I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Valo Hotel in Helsinki, and it was an exceptional experience! The modern design and warm atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that all my needs were met. The amenities, including the gym and wellness area, were top-notch, providing a perfect way to unwind after a busy day of exploring the city. The location is also fantastic, making it easy to access local attractions. I highly recommend Valo Hotel Helsinki for anyone looking for a comfortable and stylish stay in the heart of the city! Five stars all the way!
The beds in the bedroom are behind partitions, so sunlight may not reach if you are at the end of the room. Each bed has sockets and a lamp, but it was not always easy to plug in the socket. In the evening, the kitchen can be crowded due to the large number of people.
The hotel is situated a bit further from the city center, but there is no need to worry because the public transport around the hotel is excellent and efficient. The breakfast offered is great, and while the bed is quite soft, I would prefer it to be a bit firmer for better back support. The housekeeping staff was very helpful. Overall, my stay was pleasant, and I look forward to staying at the hotel again in the future.
Hilton is not directly connected to the airport. We arrived in a snowy winter afternoon, had to push our luggages out into the cold. A short 3-5 mins walk we arrive at Hilton. The reception was nice and friendly checking us in. The rooms are clean and spacious. Amenity is simple but sufficient for an airport hotel. Bed is very comfy, we had a very good night rest. Uber is convenient and ride to city centre is a short 20+ mins away.
location was super convenient, we were a 3 mins walk away from the Central Railway Station which connects you to other places in Helsinki quickly and efficiently. breakfast selection can be varied as we stayed for a couple of nights but the selection remained the same everyday. but overall, really enjoyed our stay! :) thank you for the amazing service provided especially at the reception where we experienced difficulties with our flight and they were kind enough to assist us throughout.
The hotel is very good, there is a free shuttle bus to the airport, about 10 minutes. The room is very clean, the front desk is very nice, the next day I left early and did not go to the sister hotel for breakfast, I chose to take away
We had a good stay at Hotel Arthur. The location was pretty convenient for us - it was a 5 minute walk from Helsinki's Central Station for platforms going to/from the airport, tram service was nearby and it was within a 15-20 minute walk of everything we wanted to see in Helsinki. We booked this hotel because it was inexpensive for our stay and it was pretty pleasant. The breakfast was included with our stay and was welcome as well.
We booked a twin room with two twin beds. The beds were comfy and we found extra pillows in the closet. We had a really good sleep each night at the hotel because it was very quiet. The room had a couple of chairs including a pretty big cushioned one, a desk and a TV that was mounted high. The room could be a little better with the cleaning of the tv remote and kettle but the beds and bathroom were fine. The hotel is over 100 years old and we felt the hotel showed its age the most in the room because there are some renovations that have been done over the years and it is pretty evident . Our room only had plug-ins at the desk and there was none near the night stand by the beds. The closets were in need of some maintenance because the door tracks were a bit stiff, the floor was peeling and the drywall in the back was loose. The shower used to have sliding doors as evident by the track that wasn't removed but the shower had a curtain that was too short and the floor squeegee was there for a reason because the water went everywhere when I showered. Shower pressure was fine and it was easy to get plenty of hot water. You may want to consider bringing your own bath products because the shower gel was meant for hand soap, body wash and shampoo.
The hotel has saunas that you can book upon request. If you book your hotel reservation directly through the hotel you can get a discounted rate of 8 euros per person for the sauna but if you book through another website it is 10 euros per person. There is a nicer sauna that is shown in the pictures of the hotel but it fills up pretty quickly. We got the other sauna and it was ok but was in need of some cleaning because previous guests left their wet towels all over the place instead of in the towel bin located under a bench. We felt it was silly to charge a different rate if you booked through another platform because we wouldn't have heard of this hotel if we didn't use the platform we used!
The breakfast was pretty standard and I had a nice English breakfast each day from the buffet. The mushrooms, sausage and hash browns were my favourite but I grew to enjoy the scrambled eggs during my stay because they add something to it that I'm not used to. They also had yoghurt, cereals, cold cut meats, fruit and cheese amongst other standard breakfast staples. They had a juice dispenser, a small selection of tea and black coffee. They also had items that you could pay for at the bar like a cappuccino or chocolate chip muffin.
The reception area was pretty good. They had luggage storage and quite a few chairs to sit in. My wife liked their small souvenir shop and got some cute post cards. The staff are very helpful and can provide recommendations for the city. The reception also provide tea and sugar for your room and you can pick up your rations daily. They do not provide regular cleaning for the rooms but you can arrange cleaning or new towels through reception.
There are plenty of sights to see nearby as well as cafes, restaurants and shopping malls. The tram is a short walk away and that was very convenient for us as we did a day trip to Tallinn using the ferries to go across the sea.
We booked this hotel because it was affordable in a pretty expensive city and we would still recommend it if the pieces are fair. It was a good place to sleep and unwind after each day we spent exploring the area.
The hot springs are quite large in Finland. It ends at 21 o'clock. You must remember to go early. We only checked in at 20:30 and couldn't make a good soak.
The hotel is very big and beautiful like a park, and there is a 60s labor at the door.

centrally based, just 5 min walk to railway, newish building, but noise and heat insulation are in dire need of improvement. air conditioning didn't work by 28 degrees outside and glass facade, not even a fan. trams are heard on the 8th floor as if a small plane is passing by, and that late into the night. Soap splashes on the door have not been cleaned for a while and beds are small, almost fell on the floor while turning.
not coming to this hotel any time soon.
on the positive side: minibar is well stocked with water for 8 euro and alcoholic beverages for partying if you want all night long

KKAK WEIStrategically located and within walking distance to Helsinki Central Station for 30 minutes ride to Helsinki Vantaa Airport.
Walking to Old Market Hall, Senate Square, Helsinki Catheral and Uspenskin Katedraali.
Late checkout until 4pm possible by paying 20 Euro extension fees.
Highly recommended to stay for easy access to town area, shopping, grocery, restaurants and supermarkets. Daily Western breakfast buffet provided is adequate.
YYee11Stayed at Scandic Helsinki Aviapolis, a convenient airport hotel near Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Overall, it was a good stay, ideal for transit travelers and short visits.
The hotel is just a few minutes from the airport, with a free shuttle service running every 20–30 minutes. It is also within walking distance of Aviapolis train station (about 15 minutes), making it easy to reach Helsinki city center. A major plus is the Jumbo Shopping Mall nearby, offering a variety of restaurants, shops, and a grocery store—perfect for those needing last-minute essentials or an alternative dining option.
The room was clean, modern, and functional, featuring comfortable bedding, a work desk, and a well-maintained bathroom with a walk-in shower and essential toiletries.
The breakfast buffet starts at 6 AM, offering a great selection of fresh bread, cold cuts, hot dishes, and Finnish specialties. For those with super early flights, a light breakfast is available from 4 AM.
Due to time constraints - I briefly checked out the gym and sauna in the basement which appeared well-maintained.
The staff was friendly and efficient, making check-in and check-out smooth. The overall atmosphere is modern and practical, making it a great choice for travelers catching an early flight or needing a short, comfortable stay near the airport.

AAnonymous UserOur experience wasn't off to a good start, dealing with Jason when dropping our bags in the morning. He was borderline racist, assuming we were with the other Asian groups, making presumptions about our requests, and had difficulties understanding our requests on arranging for early to-go breakfast boxes.
But everything else during our stay was perfect hence the 5 stars. Everyone else we dealt with, including the house keepers, restaurant staff and cleaners were all great - very helpful and friendly.
The hotel is strategically located right next to the Central railway station.
The room itself was large and clean and beautifully decorated. We also tried out the facilities including sauna and cold plunge (a Finnish culture), which were top notch. The gym was also world class and properly better equipped than some other commercial gyms out there.
The other highlight was the breakfast. So many options even for vegetarians like us, all allergens clearly labelled.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who's ever in Helsinki.
GGuest UserConvenient location if you plan to take the viking line. Also easily accessible from city center by tram. The room is clean, and adequate amenities.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located very close to the central station with many restaurants and cafes in the surroundings. The facilities are very new and clean. However the rooms are not quite like the pictures, the standard double room we booked is so small that we can only open one luggage at a time and we ended upgrading to another room type. It's not a big difference in terms of money but we feel scammed and the perception isn't great.
Another thing when we tried to use the sauna their staff told us we needed to pay for it and book a session in advance (at least two hours in advance I believe), which no one mentioned before not even when we check-in nor printed anywhere in the hotel.
Overall the hardware is og high quality and I'm quite happy with it, however, the software in terms of service and communication has plenty of room to grow.
AAnonymous UserConveniently next to arrival exit. Check in staff was at the counter even late at night. Room was assigned to an accessibility room, and was very spacious and quiet. Bed and floor were clean, but a very faint smell can be picked up in the bathroom. No bottled water offered in room, but you can pick up a bottle at the airport supermarket before coming in. Overall a pleasant hotel for overnight transit.
