Inverness has become silly in terms of hotel prices. HI Express is reasonably priced, breakfast is included and it's now my main choice for the Highland capital. Staff welcoming and helpful. Good breakfast choice.
On this occasion, my only negative comment was that the heating wasn't working in our ground floor room. There was a convector heater in the room but this wasn't ideal to maintain a good temperature.
This is one of the best hotels for this self-driving trip. The view facing the bay is excellent. There are many antique furnitures in the hotel that are worth admiring. The food is also good. I specifically measured the latitude outside the hotel.
It's hard to book a room in Portree during the peak season, and this hotel happened to have a vacancy. The room facilities are OK. It's not easy to find a room with a suitable price in Skye Island. The first floor we stayed in looked like the second floor, and there was a basement. The breakfast was quite satisfactory. There is a supermarket and a gas station next to the hotel. Free parking, there is a free parking lot next to the hotel.
The staff were absolutely phenomenal and all so welcoming. Top rate service all the way. Food was ok for dinner and breakfast. The room was really spacious and clean. Only thing that was maybe a downside was the mattress was very old.

Awesome, beautiful location but hotel looking alittle tired. Needing refurbished in some areas. Breakfast average and bar very expensive.Staff friendly.
The rate of one night and breakfast for two reasonable but we booked the hotel for its location.
The room was basic but clean. Staff were friendly and efficient. location was perfect for the local amenities. Price was fair but the details concerning the included breakfast were misleading, as the breakfast was ”continental” not ”full Scottish” as I had assumed however, the selection on offer was varied .
I would suggest that it should be stressed when booking online, that breakfast is ”continental”

AAnonymous UserI was worried when I read the reviews at first, but other places are either far away or super expensive. When I arrived, I found that it was okay, it was an old-fashioned European hotel, the room was unexpectedly large, and the sanitation was also good. The sound insulation is poor. There is actually a swimming pool, and the mushrooms for breakfast are very delicious. The child said he was very satisfied.
GGuest UserReally great Hotel. Cheapest around as well so don’t really get when people book cheap hotels and complain that it’s not 5* 😂. Location is amazing. The Loch is beautiful. Staff are really nice. Rooms have everything you need and are quite spacious. Food is really good although a wee bit expensive but still good sized portions.
GGuest UserGood hotel but, for their regular double room, over priced. The Glen Mhor is basically a collection of former B&B establishments which have been taken over and redeveloped. This means that the majority of rooms are in neighbouring buildings so a bit of a walk is involved! I have stayed here before and each time found myself in a small double room. They are clean, well decorated and fine for an overnight stay. On the downside, they tend to be so small that there is no room for a chair or workspace. This time around we opted for the breakfast package. The restaurant was right at the opposite end of the complex but the walk along to it was pleasant. The breakfast itself was excellent. Staff were incredibly attentive and the range of food on offer was very good.
Would I stay again? That would depend on the package on offer. I wouldn't opt for a 'room only' given the small size - there are plenty Premier Inns around which, to be fair, are of an equal, if not higher standard to the standard double rooms at Glen Mhor. Location is excellent for the city centre and depending when you travel, there is plenty parking available.
SSIU FUNG CALVINNice view from the room, and nice bed for a good night. The swimming pool is spacious, and the gym studio is well equipped. A few minutes driving to the town centre or the retail park is also convenient to do sight seeing or shopping.
SSIU FUNG CALVINThe proximity to local attractions and daily necessities is the main selling point of this accommodation. And the spectacular lake view of the dining hall brings another enjoyment to your breakfast for starting a day !
GGuest UserMy Mum and I stayed here for a night, we wanted something special and we had a lovely experience! This hotel may be old but I felt that was part of the charm, especially because you can pick up a paper at the desk which tells you all about the history of it (including how Mae West had a room there!).
The man at reception was lovely, as were the bar staff, and we had a great sleep in a cozy, nicely themed room with a great bathtub. My Mum especially appreciated the Bible being left in the bedside table as well. That may have been done by a guest but it was nice that the staff left it there nonetheless in case somebody wanted to read it. There were a number of little touches like that, and we had a garden view which was lovely.
Also the breakfast was included in our booking, and well worth it! I'd recommend this stay for anyone looking to have a nice night in the Scottish countryside!
YYONGIn fact, Glencoe Canyon does not have a fixed attraction. After coming from Lomond Lake and entering the mountains, every viewpoint is an attraction. There are two visit centers along the way, and the scenery is not as good as the view point. However, the most beautiful attraction in Glencoe Canyon is actually in this hotel. The hotel is located on the peninsula in the lake, the peninsula is more than 10 meters above the lake surface, the mountains and rivers, large areas of bluebells, the hotel hidden in the landscape, a picture of a paradise. Walk around the peninsula, take pictures, and watch the sunset, which is very enjoyable. Free parking lot, the room size is too big, the facilities inside are good, clean and sanitary. Warm service and good breakfast. Two-story building without elevator.
GGuest UserThe hotel is definitely not a 4 star. Top range 3 star at best. The room was clean. It was advertised as a king sized bed, however putting 2 single beds together is very misleading.
The Italian restaurant, the staff are nice but the service is very very slow. Took me an hour to get food. The location is ideal. The sports centre is good and spacious. The pool is good fun. The gym needs a complete modernisation program. Not enough equipment and in a very small room. The sports centre could utiltse space more effectively and have a state of the art gym in the other bigger rooms. It would be used well, however this is sadly not the case. I will return and use this hotel in the future. The price is not cheep and if your expecting Hilton quality then this is not the hotel for you.

GGuest UserStayed a night at The Glencoe Inn and had a pleasant experience. Dinner on arrival was the highlight — the lady host was super chirpy and incredibly personable, bringing a bright, happy energy that made the evening feel special.
Breakfast the next morning was hosted by a gentleman with a great sense of humour, adding a light and cheerful start to the day.
The room was clean and well-kept, with excellent in-room shower amenities — the shampoo and soap smelled fantastic, and a proper hot shower melted away all the fatigue.
Only downside: the walls are quite thin, so footsteps and neighbouring sounds were noticeable at times. Not a dealbreaker, but worth being aware.
Overall, friendly people, thoughtful touches, and a cosy Highland atmosphere. Would happily return.
