The check in experience was a bit odd as you had to wait until 3pm to collect the card key from the concierge. The overall experience was positive, the hotel is nice and clean, excellent positioned in the mall and the breakfast was nice, although it was very busy again. It is a large hotel with a lot of rooms.

Cons It's my first time staying in a hotel without a shower head. Suggest the hotel install showerhead in all the toilets regardless of the room type. There is a mosquito in the room. We called on the housekeeping department, and they could only offer insecticides as a remedy, but we politely rejected them as my toddler is travelling with us. Pros Breakfast spread is not bad. The restaurant staff are very attentive and friendly. The housekeeping and frontdesk staff (Farizzudin) are very polite and helpful.

Location is 8 mins walk from Mid Valley Southkey Mall. Service is good. After I checked in and took a shower, realized there was no towel and no soap either. Had to call for housekeeping staff to bring them. Then the sink was leaking from the pipe below and water was flowing to the door. Decided to pack my things and went to front desk to request for change of room. The staff was helpful and assigned a new room. Breakfast spread was good and worthwhile.

The hotel is just right in the middle of Johor sentral and very convenient with all necessary shops and restaurants nearby. Receptionist have provided a 24th floor room to me which I have much appreciated that with excellent scenery. The room and facilities are quite old but well maintained. Bed and pillow are clean and comfortable. Toilet and bathtub are also well maintained and no smelly issue. The next day morning breakfast is simple and good, nothing much to complaint. Overall staying experience is good and value for money, definitely will choose this hotel again if travel to Johor.

Our room was spacious, spotless, and elegantly designed, offering a beautiful view of the Johor Bahru skyline. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. I especially appreciated the modern amenities provided, from the well-equipped workspace to the luxurious bathroom. Dining at the hotel was another highlight. The buffet breakfast offered a wide variety of local and international selections, freshly prepared and full of flavor. The service staff were attentive, always ready to assist with a smile. The facilities were top-notch – the swimming pool overlooking the city was a fantastic spot to relax, while the gym was well-maintained and equipped with everything needed for a good workout. What truly made the stay exceptional was the warm hospitality of the entire team. Every interaction – whether at the restaurant, housekeeping, or reception – reflected genuine care for guests’ comfort and satisfaction. In short, DoubleTree Hilton Johor Bahru is the perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and world-class service. Whether for business or leisure, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Johor Bahru. I look forward to returning soon.

Stayed here for my son's birthday celebration. Arrived at 11am, registered and inform them regarding the birthdatly and was given one complimentary pass where we can redeem a slice of cake and small gift from the shop. We went straight to the Waterpark and hotel Whatsapp us when the room is ready. Aircond and music was on when we entered the room, and got a little surprise from the housekeeping, a nice birthday wish drawing on the mirror. Parking is free once we register. Breakfast is nice with a variety of selections. Buggy is available to get to the private beach at Westin. Overall it is a recommended stay with good service.

My husband and I always love the city hotel. Why ? We love the vibes, the people, the location. This is our go to short escape, we go to every hotel in the city for 2days1night, we sit near the window with our JCO's Donut, enjoying the view, and resting. Sometimes we just want new air, feel stuck yesterday ? Now our mind is clear and fresh ☺️❤️ Oh yes, the crib clean and thanks for the free coloring book + crayon, popcorn, and refreshing welcome drinks. Service good, no doubt. Just the entrance and the mall, it is not stroller friendly so I need to go a bit farther and the parking lot is not near too with the lobby. Or Maybe I need to go again to check the access. That time we try to find the way but it seems like that's the way at that time.

Room big and clean. But get set worn out the room due to wear and tear by inconsiderate guests Not near beach but near makan and supermarket. The nearest mall not much, best walk along the shop houses So eat till you drop no problem. But if shop for clothes, souvenir etc not much choice if you trendy type Check in at 330 but was told no room available and cannot get same floor. Then I explained its 330 and need try their best as I yet to do my prayers. Then magic happen, room can appear and same floor some more. The check in process was slow, likely new boy and not guided well. Amenities standard for a 4 star hotel. Pool and gym for act fit people. Those who want go beach can act fit and run there or 10 min drive for those unfit ones.

Hotel staff are friendly, the room is big, soft mattress and a few types of pillows are provided. Great breakfast, kitchen staff are friendly too. It’s just opposite City Square shopping mall which is a plus. The carpark is not free as it shares with the residential building. But it is bright and felt safe. The only negative side is the rain shower, difficult to adjust the hot and cold water. The toilet flush is not strong too. Need to press both half and full flush button together to get a stronger flush.

I had a wonderful stay at Lotus Desaru Resort & Spa. The breakfast spread was excellent with plenty of variety, and the sea was clean and refreshing. The rooms were neat and comfortable, which made the stay pleasant. That said, the resort hasn’t seen any major renovations in the past 13 years, and some of the same complaints still remain. The bird area also looks a little unkept — perhaps a bigger, better-maintained space would make it more enjoyable for guests. Another small suggestion is to have a larger TV in the living area since there’s only one television provided. On a positive note, having a Starbucks franchise run by Lotus Resort on-site is a great addition and makes the stay even more convenient. Overall, Lotus Desaru remains a good choice for families and groups, offering value and a relaxing environment. With nearby competition like Westin and Hard Rock, I do hope the resort invests in further upgrades to keep up with today’s standards.
