First, about the pros. The view from the room is gorgeous. To the lake and the mountains. The territory is huge, well-kept. The place itself is very beautiful. Interesting architecture of the buildings with rooms, the restaurant is very stylish.
That's all. I regret that I did not read all the reviews carefully before booking. Because it's all true. I don't understand, does the hotel management not read them or something? I do not give too low marks because the staff is wonderful - the girls at the reception did everything possible to improve our stay. But the room was old, the furniture and mirror were in a strange condition, the smell at the entrance was very sharp and unpleasant. We were offered to change, but that room had no view, and we booked and paid extra for a view of the lake. Later we saw that in our building there were rooms slightly better than ours, but we were not offered.
The hotel is very far away and taxis are very expensive. The name mentioned Ninh Binh, and this was confusing, because we booked very quickly. It's strange that there is no shuttle at least to the sights (even for a fee, but a reasonable one!).
Breakfasts can also be made much better, now there is nothing to eat except eggs and fruit..
I am writing this only so that the management pays attention and this gorgeous natural oasis is brought into line with what is stated in the description.
Room rate is more than reasonable as the room is very big and location is very convenient.
However, would be great if below few minor things can be taken into consideration:
1) Breakfast - both quality and choices need to be improved.
2) Room - no electricity at the electric sockets next to the bed…so I need to charge my phone with the socket under the desk instead.
3) Spa - would appreciate if they can extend closing time to 10pm!
The hotel is clean and quiet, the swimming pool is excellent, the breakfast is rich, the room has a great view, the hotel is in a convenient location, there are ample parking spaces, and the front desk staff is polite and thoughtful.
We have 2 wonderful staff assists and helping us plan our sites visits and meals. Le Tan and Thai Huong went beyond their duties. We have an well rested couple of days, especially from Ha noi. I definitely recommend this hotel to friends and families and likely return to this hotel.
We arranged private transport from Hanoi hotel to Hidden Charm and the transport was punctual (early in fact). Driver was focused and safe.
Check-in at Hidden Charm was a breeze, they served a citrusy warm drink that I enjoyed. Front desk customer service personnel were proactive in suggesting sightseeing spots at Ninh Binh when we asked for suggestions.
Breakfast buffet was pretty standard with western bread options and Asian pho, fried rice etc.
Location wise, Hidden Charm is very near the Tam Coc boat ticket booth and also offers bicycles for us to cycle to Mua Caves and where the Lying Dragon was. At the entrance to Mua Cave, there will be people trying to get you to park your bikes for a fee, typically 5k VND per bike but we found one close to entrance and charged 2k VND per bike.
Our room was at the 7th floor and comes with a expansive view. The bed was comfortable and not too soft. There was also a bath tub for me to enjoy.
At the end of trip, the hotel staff arranged for private transport to the Noi Bai airport at my request. Again, driver was early and ride was smooth. I enjoyed my stay at Hidden Charm and would recommend to anyone who wish to stay in a clean hotel with excellent service.
Emeralda Hotel in Tam Coc is a hidden gem, perfect for a serene getaway. Nestled amidst breathtaking landscapes, the location is ideal for exploring local attractions like Tam Coc caves and Ninh Binh’s lush countryside. The hotel is surrounded by excellent dining options, offering authentic Vietnamese cuisine. The property itself boasts top-notch amenities, including a beautiful pool, a luxurious spa, and well-appointed rooms that blend modern comforts. Whether you’re seeking relaxation or adventure, Emeralda Hotel offers an exceptional experience in the heart of Vietnam’s natural beauty.
📍Location: The hotel is not too far from the town attractions, about 1 km. It takes about 15 minutes to ride a bicycle to Bitong Temple.
🍚Food: The B&B has breakfast, which needs to be paid separately. There are also many places to eat nearby. There is a hot pot restaurant next to it.
🛏️Accommodation: The mountain view room was allocated on the first floor, next to the restaurant kitchen, and there were sounds of washing dishes and chatting late at night. It can be said that there is no sound insulation here, because the toilet window is not completely sealed and used for ventilation. Because the decoration is biased towards traditional wooden buildings, there will be gaps in the door. Remember to lock the toilet door indoors when sleeping and going out. The door is locked with an ordinary key, remember to keep the key (I didn’t keep it well, and left it in the restaurant. We had to leave early the next morning. The owner of the B&B was very kind to help us get it back and only charged us for travel expenses)
Service: The service is very good. The owner answered all questions, and the uncle who was replaced by the doorkeeper at night was also very nice. You can rent bicycles and motorcycles here, but I suggest taking a taxi to the attractions if there are so many people, as driving is really a bit tiring.
The hotel is located in a remote location, only in step-by-step access to Hang Mua. You can take bikes and get to Trang An Boat tpir. You can reach restaurants, 20 minutes walk.
Breakfast is modest, good fruit choice.
The biggest minus - in the room is poorly cleaned. The floors are dirty, in the bathroom, too dirty. Towels are already used enough. In the ant teapot, the teapot is old and rusty. The refrigerator is very loud, it is impossible to sleep at night. In January, the room is cold and dark.
A beautiful view from an extra room in which it is impossible to be, as it blows very strongly out of the window.
The staff is friendly.
Overall it was quite good. The old town and the tourist area are very close. You can also walk there. The hotel is very and.
The service is also good but you had the feeling that they don't have much experience with foreign guests, even though there are a lot of tourists.
Overall, it's okay. The room is quite big, and the breakfast is okay. There are not too many dishes, and the overall environment is okay. It's just that the late check-out service charges 50% for a few hours. I'm a bit unhappy.

GGuest User4 star resort with 5 star prices & 3 star services.
Mar 2024
Vietnam is a very beautiful & culturally rich country. We visited Hanoi, Halong Bay, Hoi An, Da Nang & Ninh Binh on 11D/LON trip.
Hospitality, reception & local immersion was outstanding at all places (except Emeralda) - people were welcoming & hotel staff were very courteous.
Emeralda Resort at Ninh Binh was not so pleasant experience barring a few seasoned staff members. F&B Manager at Sen Restauran (morning paid breakfast) declined to entertain vegan food request & puréed fruit for 7 month infant, She said Kitchen's busy, we have large group to cater to. After much explanation she managed to get a fried rice (that's It!l) but for puréed fruit she denied & insisted I pay for it.
Organic Restaurant is good, couple of staff there (mostly women) were courteous. Pool Bar attendant had some issues, not even acknowledging the greetings.
Thanks to Ms Hung (Restaurant Manager), Mr Chung (Reception) & another Restaurant manager at Organic (missed her name) for making our stay bearable & manageable. They have a very wonderful property & spacious rooms, had the service been at par like ot 4 & 5 star resorts; it would be an ideal location for tranquility.
Note: Vegan / Vegetarian food menu is limited & not allowed to buy food from outside.

TTentenAmaiodinTam Ha (one of the staffs) had assisted us throughout our stay. Easy to communicate. We reached the hotel around 7am and they let us rest in the massage room while waiting for the check-in time (2pm). At 10am - room was ready for us to check-in. She even upgraded our room and thus, we had bathtub 🥰. They lent us a steamer for us to iron our clothes. Bicycles available to stroll around town (free) and motorcycles available for rent at 60k dong for half day. They even had so many services which sadly we had no time to experience. We did try the complimentary tea time and it was nice to hv a chat at the rooftop with such perfect view. I would recommend this hotel. Service 5 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
Tam Ha even personally came to our room to check on us so that we didn’t miss our flight on the check-out day.
The other staffs were also friendly and kind. They assisted us promptly. Technician helped to fix our room telephone and carry our baggage. Everything went perfectly well and this had contributed to our great time in Ninh Binh.
AAudreyOur stay at Tam Coc Moment was nothing short of amazing From the moment we arrived, the owner, Tommy, went above and beyond—seamlessly arranging our transfer from Hanoi and offering insider tips on the best places to visit in Ninh Binh. His warm hospitality made us feel right at home.
One of the highlights of our stay was the delicious homemade breakfast prepared by his wife. Every morning, we eagerly looked forward to her delicious, lovingly prepared dishes, which made for the perfect start to our day.
The entire property was impeccably clean, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. What truly made the experience special was the beautiful little garden, where we enjoyed our meals amidst lush greenery and a tranquil ambiance.
Tam Coc Moment is a true hidden gem, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!
MMixPlorerI didn’t expect much about the place in terms of amenities and cleanliness but the kindness, friendliness and care I received from the staff were superb. I was there for pure nature, serenity and magnificent views, and boy I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a property perched in the middle of the iconic rocky mountains of Ninh Binh, surrounded by lush greenery and a small river that even had a little canoe next to my cabin. You can just stay at this property the whole day without doing anything special yet your mind and heart still end up fulfilled. Sit at their small cafe while having some coffee or a plate of authentic local Vietnamese food. Just stare at the rice fields or admire the beauty of the lotus on their pond. Have a bonfire at night while listening to their good-vibe music or ask the staff to play your own.
GGuest UserWe stayed for 5 nights and it was a fantastic experience throughout! Room was clean and had hot water, Netflix and aircon. View at the homestay was great and allowed us to relax thoroughly. Host was very friendly and gave us good advice on where to travel in the area. We had bbq and family was so kind to help us with the bbq. Location is ideal for travelling to trang an boat ride and hang mua cave. Bicycle rental is for free. Overall, highly recommend others to visit this homestay to complete your vietnam experience!
