Beautifully themed rooms, which elevate what would actually be a rather small room, and made it feel like a quaint and cosy boutique hotel. Loved the balcony overlooking the river, giving us a unique view of greenery and water. And the beds were super comfy. Appreciated the Nespresso machine, the wide choice of teas and the complimentary water and biscuits, plus, the property is a short stroll to the centre of town. Would definitely stay here again.
The hotel staffs are excellent included the check in staff, swimming pool receptionist, restaurant staffs, and the cleaner,I left my mobile phone when check out,I went to my car to search and when I returned to the lobby,a staff holding my phone and wait for me there.Grateful to them made my term break trip so impressed and will definitely go back if I had holidays, highly recommend
Service was basic but expected of a budget hotel. Hotel was small but cosy. I liked that they had a proper desk that I could use since I am studying at Cambridge but didn’t manage to get a college room.
Bed was surprisingly comfortable despite being basic.
There are only 2 lifts which may be slow if there are large groups of people using it.
Location is near train station so that’s a plus point.
Fabulous stay in a great location. Only 10-15 minutes walk to the city centre.
The staff are incredibly helpful and polite.and the rooms have everything you could possibly wish for.
Breakfast was amazing with so many choices and quality items available.
Highly recommended and looking forward to returning.
Mixed Experience – Some Great Aspects but Room for Improvement
We recently stayed at the Novotel Cambridge North and had a mixed experience. The hotel has a lot going for it—modern facilities, a good location just north of the city centre, and excellent breakfast options that really stood out. The pool area is great for kids, and the sauna and jacuzzi were enjoyable touches that added value to our stay.
However, there were a few letdowns. While staff were generally friendly, some follow-through was lacking—for example, we requested dressing gowns and slippers, and refills of the shower gel and shampoo which were promised but never delivered.
The hotel uses a strange single-use key card system for the leisure facilities, which caused repeated issues. Cards were frequently deactivated, leaving guests locked out of the pool and gym areas. We often had to rely on others to let us in, or vice versa, which became frustrating.
Also worth noting: there is no on-site parking available, which should be clearly stated in advance for future guests.
Overall, the hotel offers decent value for money, especially for families, and the convenient public transport links (bus and train) make it easy to get into the city. With some improvements in service and clearer communication, this could be an excellent place to stay
Highly recommended! After being in the UK for over two weeks, this is definitely my favorite hotel. To get here from the train station, you can take bus U1 or U2. If you're exploring for a day or two, just buy a day pass directly on the bus; it costs a little over £8 for two people. The hotel no longer provides these passes itself. You can cook here, and there's a supermarket right downstairs, which is incredibly convenient. To get to the campus for a stroll, simply take the bus. It's a good idea to check Google Maps for bus times in advance; although the buses might not be super frequent, they are quite punctual, making getting around very easy. I would certainly choose this hotel again if I return to Cambridge, and the surrounding area is also very pleasant.
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Cambridge during my visit – tucked away in a very quiet, wooded area outside the city. While it offered a peaceful environment and a decent breakfast to start the day ☕🍳, the location felt quite remote – especially at night, when it was eerily silent and surrounded by trees. 🌌🌳
The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, with friendly staff and all the basics covered. Just a heads-up: it’s quite a distance from central Cambridge, so be sure to plan your travel accordingly, especially if you're not driving.

Comfortable room. Clean. Little out of town.
Service good. Food good. Staff very friendly and helpful.
When booked bill stated price was £89:25 including VAT
However card charged £105 receptionist was very helpful when this was pointed out the following morning and agreed to make enquiries on my behalf and get back to me. I have yet to hear from company to discuss the reason for the overpayment. But guessing this may take a couple of days.
I stayed there for several days in a row. I only had one room card, which I accidentally left in the room. For this reason, the front desk lady remembered me and gave me two cards. There is a park and a traffic light outside the hotel, and it only takes a few minutes to walk to the downtown area. Peterborough is a nice city, small but complete, with a large cathedral and a sense of historical architecture.

LLoKIMMThe location is perfect for walking to the centre, the reception can provide the basic stuff for us when we check in for example toothbrush, shaver set, etc, so we did not need to ask after entering the room
SSpartanThe hotel is located in the northern part of Cambridge, about a 15-minute walk from the city centre. The facilities appear well-maintained, and the interior decoration is charming, particularly in the restaurant.
However, the noise insulation is poor, and you can clearly hear footsteps and conversations in the hallway. It's unfortunate if you happen to encounter loud or inconsiderate guests, as the noise can be quite disruptive, especially late at night. If that happens, do call the front desk and they will try to intervene - but still, whether it will work highly depends on the behaviour of those guests.
ZzyqIt’s about 10 min walk from the train station. The front desk gentleman was very welcoming and helpful. I arrived around noon time before the official check in and he offered an early check in with no hassle

AAnonymous UserIt's very expensive for the location. The room was as expected but the duvet could have been a bit heavier and warmer. Breakfast was well cooked and had variety to choose from. Overall, excellent and great service. I'll definitely recommend to my friends and family and I will definitely visit again soon.
