The room was street-facing, and the traffic noise at night was quite loud. I could also hear constant coughing from the room next door. Since it was only a one-night stay, I just managed to put up with it.
The hotel is very well located with very friendly and competent staff, good service, friendlyness and information. The hotel was very clean and well-signified, and the room was comfortable enough but there was a small table because there was nowhere to put the computer for normal use. Not so the bath was completely insufficient by the size of the bath. It was just in, and for example to use the washing machine simply to wash your hands was swallowed the whole floor as it was ”minimalist” of 30x20 cm.; the cup of the bathroom without little place and the shower-mampara just to be able to move. The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable.
The hotel is a remodeled building from a very old building.
You can park on the road in front of the hotel, and it is easy to find because it is near the church.
There is no elevator, so you have to be careful when carrying heavy luggage.
The room size is just right for sleeping, and it is set up sensibly.
The bathroom inside is small, and you have to be careful when using the shower. At first, I was surprised that water came out from above, and the water pressure needs to be high to convert it into a shower hose.
The staff were all friendly, and the breakfast was good.
Comfortable bed, excellent bathroom, very good blackout, available clothes, TV could be greater. very good spa especially the pool. The reception boss was of an inexcessive sympathy. To soon!
The hotel is cozy and familiy's friendly, the reception desk was friendly and welcoming, Fatima at the reception desk was great.
The breakfast is intercontinental buffet and had a variety of options besides great taste, Dinner is A LA carte menu and the chef is exceptional.
We didn't use the outdoor pool since it's so cold but the Spa and the indoor pool was pretty nice، the Jacuzzi was out of order.
Overall the location and services was pretty much great definitely deserves another visit.
There is only one bottle of water in the room and you have to buy the rest by yourself because I don’t know if the water from the faucet is edible. The other ones are pretty good.
We stayed there for two nights. The bed was comfy and the shower was good. Yet, as a 4-star hotel, they didnt provide slippers and toothbrushes and toothpaste in the room...We checked in late and were exhausted, so didn’t want to ask for room service (we felt bad for not having small change for tips!)
The white shower curtain was a bit gross (mouldy/ stained)...as well as their toilet seat (yellow stains underneath)
The hotel's concept is original and fun. More than a simple stay, it's a whole experience. I thought the fact that I have no windows could be rare, but the truth is that I didn't miss anything. The location is perfect.
The room has a suitable size, the bed is super comfortable and the bathroom, in proportion, is quite large.
The staff were friendly and breakfast exceeded my expectations.
Great location, wallking distance to the main tourists street with all restaurants & shops. Across the street from Coimbra train station. (Not Coimbra B)
Beds are comfortable & the shower water pressure was amazing, their breakfast was great too, lots of fresh fruits, scrambled eggs, juice & all kinds if breads, pastries, coffee
etc. The young ladies at the reception were so kind & caring. The room, bed & bathroom were all spacious.

Great
AAndrewA superb historic property under private management and ownership - actually, in the ownership of the same family for over 400 years altho’ now a member of the Small Luxury Hotels marketing system affiliated with Hilton. The property in its adjoining Gardens are a destination in themselves, along with the nearby (400m) Santa Clara monastery. They may be sufficient for some visitors, but it’s about a 15 minute walk to the centre of Coimbra and it’s main historical area.
Arthur Wellesley - aka Viscount Wellington - was a visitor during his Iberian campaign, so you’re in good company.
Staff are superb and obviously hand picked by the owner. The receptionist when I arrived (Evening of Sunday 16 February) was simply the best I’ve ever experienced, Singapore, Bangkok and Tokyo included. Genuinely fascinating to talk to about the history of the building and some of the previous guests (famous but ‘passed’ celebrities so no confidence is breached).
Best to stay in the rooms in the main building if possible, if tales of the previous occupant intrigue. Although the spa Is impressive – up to best Thai standards - and I guess the adjoining spa rooms may be equally good.
Overall, an absolute gem that far exceeded expectations.
EEsmeralda Maria Dias NunesI loved. Very professional service. The building is beautiful. My room had a spectacular view over the Mondego River. All the decoration and details of the hotel transport us to the 1920s, a true journey through time. The furniture is original but very well looked after. The elevator, the living and reading room, the revolving door, the tea room where breakfast is served, everything transports us to the luxurious past of the 1920s. Those who like old things and feeling transported back in time will love it. The temperature is always very pleasant and the bed is comfortable. The breakfast had a good variety to choose from.
VVincenzaThe hotel has a very young style with a musical theme, excellent location to walk to the center.
The room was very small, with various objects hanging on the walls that further reduce the space, next to the bed was hanging a sort of wooden guitar.
The bathroom is small but functional, the shower towels are the size of face towels and are very thin making it very difficult to dry yourself.
Good general cleanliness.
The hotel has a paid parking.

Aa4292The hotel is in the city center, within walking distance to the monastery, city hall, there are supermarkets and restaurants nearby, life is very convenient. Parking is free in the public underground parking lot not far away, very good. The breakfast tastes good.

GGuest UserLocated in the centre of Coimbra, near the river and all the main tourist attractions of the city. The room was very comfortable and comfortable (by saying something the coats are of viscolatex are very hard, high) . The shower and toilet recreates the Joanina Library very original and comfortable with crystal mampares.
The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. We were kept in the baggage until afternoon without cost.
AAIHUIThe location of this hotel is very remote, more than 70 kilometers from the University of Coimbra, driving more than an hour. Don't decide if you don't have a car. The scenery on the road is still good. The hotel was converted from a monastery. In a very remote town, the hotel has a swimming pool and a vineyard. Breakfast is still OK. After the check-in, the front desk can help arrange dinner. The service staff took us on a tour of the hotel and there was a small church inside. The overall is good, it is far.
HHugo F F Sousavery well located hotel, in front of the beach and close to all relevant tourist attractions, as well as entertainment, shops, bars and restaurants. Service and concern for guests is a constant. Hotel with great facilities, spacious rooms, well decorated common areas in a very cozy atmosphere. Heated pool on the top floor allows a stunning view over the beach and the ocean at the rhythm of the sunset.
