5-Star Hotels in East Java, Indonesia

The room looks new and comfortable as it’s newly renovated. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. But need to improve on cleanliness. There were black stains on our pillow cases during our first night of stay. Requested housekeeping service and they came only after second call. Overall still considered as a pleasant stay

The front desk staff at the JW Marriott Hotel Surabaya are friendly, professional, and truly accommodating. I needed to leave the hotel by 6:00 a.m. to catch an early flight, and they assisted me in booking a taxi on time, making the entire process seamless. The housekeeping department was very attentive to my comfort during my stay. I appreciated the lovely fruit, excellent decor, and the generous selection of amenities provided. Additionally, the food at Uppercut Steak House was outstanding. The staff there were exceptional, especially the assistant manager, Erna. She provided professional service and attentively addressed all my needs, which made me eager to return to Indonesia and stay at the JW Marriott Hotel Surabaya again. Thank you once more for everything you did for me during my stay!

The location is great and all staff we came in contact with was professional and kind! The hotel rooms as a bit run down (broken wardrobe doors and broken bathroom doors). The sheets was not made properly the first time with stained cover and blanket. The room was not ready on time, we only received keys to 2/4 rooms at 3.40pm. The bathroom plug was loose on the bathtub which resulted in water seeping through when having a bath!

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. The room was spacious and well maintained event this isn't brand new building. My initial booking was for 1 night only but after I spent the first night I decided to extend another day with request another room that facing to Jalan Basuki Rahmat. Ms. Fara was helped to find my request and she asking Mr. Reva to showing me some room. They were very nice, friendly and informative. Also I thank Mr. Komarus- the room attendant who really friendlt and well in clean my room, he help to explain the function of AC which is I got confused. Then the security - Mr. Haryono also nice and informative when I asks about surrounding interesting places to visit and eat. For Room Service : I ordered Fried Gurame and Pizza , All was good. The area to improve : 1. Level of hot water need to be better 2. The noisy from AC need to be fix Other than that all experiences went extraordinary stay ! Our stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Surabaya was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, and what stood out the most was their truly personalised service. Different staff members knew our names when we visited various facilities, making us feel genuinely valued and at home. A special shoutout to Adi and Sophia, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable. Their attentiveness, warmth, and professionalism made a real difference, and we truly appreciate their efforts. The breakfast was exceptional, offering a wide variety of delicious options that were beautifully presented. Every detail was thoughtfully prepared, making it an absolute highlight of our stay. We also loved the kids' club, which had well-planned activities to keep children entertained. It was clear that a lot of thought had gone into making it a fun and engaging space for families. The service throughout the hotel was top-notch, reflecting the high standards of DoubleTree by Hilton. Every interaction was met with warmth and a genuine willingness to assist. If we return to Surabaya, DoubleTree by Hilton will certainly be at the top of our list. Highly recommended!

Nice quiet hotel with a great view. Nice deco in the room. Had some problems looking for the light controls only to find them hidden at the bedside table. Nice and celegant design but hard to find.

The staff in the horizon club were excellent, in particular, Sania was always ready to greet us with a smile and help with our queries. It was a great atmosphere in the horizon club. Breakfast was varied and enjoyable and the hotel has extensive facilities. The pool was not busy and our children really enjoyed it. As others have noted the hotel is dated in places, but staff work hard to keep it maintained. We did have an issue with one of the pillows in our room which was brown due to staining, it wasn’t ideal, we asked for a replacement but the room service put 2 pillow cases on instead. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was very clean and public areas were immaculately presented. The staff were very helpful and attentive. Rendra and Maskur were great at assisting with arranging excursions and any queries. The breakfast did not quite reach the levels of other hotels of this quality and the location was a little out of town, but overall a very good stay!

I originally booked one of the renovated rooms and there is a bit of fiasco in the first day when I came back to the room it just reeked of raw sewage, almost like a pipe it exploded, and I immediately called housekeeping who sprayed but said that they would move me to a different suite which is the one in the photos. This is one of the more expensive suites and it’s basic and similar in comparison to the renovated suite. However, renovated suite looks like it was renovated back in 1990s as the other suite was much nicer and more modern Overall, the service was fantastic. The food in the breakfast was delicious. The pool is nice. I’ll be at a little quiet and overall it’s a great location if you wanna go out to different sites or if you just wanna cruise the mall or do some quick shopping
