Overall stay, the room is comfortable and the place is convenience to go to the Paddington statation. Many restaurants nearby with nice atmosphere.

Visited in August, peak season. Given the central London location and the time of year, I can appreciate that prices are higher, so I somewhat understood the cost. HOWEVER, for a room costing on average 1500 RMB per night: it was small, outdated, and frankly, looked quite grubby. There was a strong, unpleasant plastic smell that greeted us upon entry and didn't dissipate even with the window cracked open for our entire four-night stay. The bed linen made me incredibly itchy all over, leaving me constantly scratching. To top it all off, at 1:30 AM, someone accidentally triggered the fire alarm, and the piercing siren blared throughout the building, prompting hundreds of guests to evacuate – certainly a dramatic and unforgettable (for all the wrong reasons) experience. Breakfast was quite varied, and the pool and gym facilities were adequate. But no matter how decent the public areas are, I'm staying in the ROOM! 😩 Absolutely NOT recommended!!!
It's a hygiene issue.
I was so surprised that when I came into the room, the bottle of water provided was already opened by someone else.
The location is acceptable, about a 15-minute walk from the nearest station.

First off, the location is absolutely fantastic and incredibly easy to find. Most people arrive via Waterloo Underground station. After exiting, look for Exit 2 (right next to M&S). Take the escalator down, turn right, walk straight across the road for about 200 meters, and the hotel will be on your left. Big Ben and the London Eye are just a very short walk away – you can even see the London Eye from the windows!
💝Transportation: Waterloo Tube station is right there, offering effortless access to anywhere you want to go. The real highlight, though, is the extensive and affordable bus network. You can practically reach any attraction from the bus stops directly outside the hotel. Bus 188 goes east to Greenwich Observatory (passing Tower Bridge) and west to the British Museum area (Chinatown is also very close). Bus 139 takes you to Oxford Street, Bus 148 to Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace, and Bus 360 to the Natural History Museum. Just remember to check the bus stand letter when boarding, as stops with the same name are often designated by different letters.
💝Food: Food options abound! You're spoiled for choice with Thai, kebab, Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Pret, Tesco, and more. The fish and chips next to 'Wine Food' directly opposite the hotel are super cheap, and the Lebanese kebab place nearby is also very affordable. Places on Old Vic Street tend to be a bit pricier. It really depends on your personal preference and budget!
💝Breakfast: Haha, the classic, unchanging English breakfast! Don't dismiss it; it's seriously substantial and filling. Honestly, I stayed for 10 days and couldn't get enough of it!
💝Room: A standard twin-bedded room. It's a bit dated but perfectly clean. (Given London's prices, I found this location and the room perfectly reasonable). It would be even better if the front desk staff could smile a bit more!
The Peninsula Hotel has always felt like a second home to us, no matter where in the world we are. It was wonderful to return again this time. On our previous stay, the front desk manager provided exceptional service that left a lasting impression on us.
During this visit, we also utilized the concierge's mailing service. They were incredibly professional and patient, resolving our issues promptly. In total, four concierge staff assisted us during check-in and check-out. My daughter was so grateful that she gave each of them a £10 tip—they truly deserved it.
The hotel's Chinese restaurant was excellent as well. The staff there were incredibly warm and clearly took pride in their work, creating a delightful atmosphere. I should also mention that the rooms were spotlessly clean.
I'd like to share that we've been avid fans of The Peninsula Hotel's afternoon tea since the hotel opened. We've enjoyed countless afternoon teas and breakfasts here over the years. However, I must note that during peak afternoon tea hours, when the restaurant is bustling with guests, the service can be slow. We often find ourselves waiting quite a while for assistance.
During breakfast, there have been some issues, too. We've experienced order mix-ups, and on one occasion, the food wasn't fresh. During my most recent breakfast, the fruit bowl I ordered contained moldy blueberries and rotten strawberries. A blonde, fair-skinned staff member noticed the problem but didn't offer an apology. Instead, she simply said they wouldn't charge me for the fruit bowl. I just smiled and didn't press the matter further, but I believe that outstanding service should always be a top priority for The Peninsula.
Compared to stays at The Emory and Maybourne Hotel, whose staff showed remarkable warmth and attentiveness, I think there’s room for improvement. Nevertheless, I sincerely hope that The Peninsula continues to thrive and elevate its service to new heights.

the room was a good size for one person. the ceiling was rather low, especially in the bathtub where one has to stand inside to take showers. even for me and i’m a small person (165cm/5’4). overall bathtub/shower arrangement was awkward. with only narrow glass partition, water would go everywhere. the water pressure was strong, so that’s a silver lining.
appreciated how fluffy and comfy the bathrobe was. the linens felt crisp clean and most of other stuff in the room. but the teaspoons were dirty.
the breakfast was okay. the staffs were nice. the location was good. there is a bus stop very close, hammersmith station is only 25 min on foot, a good shawarma place was nearby, and right next to it there’s sainsbury local. the neighborhood felt safe, which was one of the most important conditions i was looking for.
final thought: mixed. most parts were okay, some not.

Everything was mostly good.
Nice things:
- There's free coffee and fruits in the lobby.
Things to call out:
- no free laundry service, you have to pay 5 GBP for laundry.
- stepping out from the bath tub into the toilet is a slip hazard, my partner actually slipped, luckily she wasn't injured.
- Noise insulation is quite poor for the room, when there are loud guests in neighboring rooms, you'll likely hear them. During our stay, we had a group of young men staying in one of the neighbouring rooms, they'd just keep talking loudly till midnight almost every night, tough to sleep in before midnight as a consequence.
We are 100% satisfied with our 5 nights stay with Cheval, the best service apartments hotel in London overlooking tower of bridge and tower of london. WE FEEL LIKE HOME. The best location in London. 2 mins walk to Tower of London 5 mins walk to tower bridge. A pier infornt of the hotel which takes us toany attractions by uber boat. The restaurant downstair is fabulous and we celebrated our son's 17th birthday. They serve best pasta. We booked 2 bedrooms apartments and were assigned 7 G very spacious room with fabulous river view. The rooms are equipped with highest facilities great amenities [ top quality shower gel lotion slipper, bath ropes 3pin plug and super super comfortable bed and pillow. ] Their kitchen is very modern equipped with dish washer, fridge and all utensils. They have very big laundry room. We booked Cheval Grand Edinburgh as well for 2 nights stay. Worth the price.

GGuest UserWe're a family of 4 with 2 young children and booked the studio. But when we arrived, we were told that the room had no electricity and so split us into 2 rooms instead.
While the rooms were generally clean, most of the bath towels had brown patches or old blood stains on them which was quite gross. 1 room that we were assigned to also had a weird fishy smell at the stove area.
The hotel is about 7 min walk from Aldgate East tube station and is located on quiet street. This is not a very pleasant area, and there were always shady characters around the tube station, which made us feel uncomfortable, so we tried not to stay out too late.
Staff were friendly and accommodating but they appeared short staffed during check in / check out timings. Only 2 staff on duty, so there is a bit of a wait if you need their help at these times.
AAnonymous Userthe staff was so nice and warm welcoming. the room and facilities are quite good but it looked old a little bit. after checking out, i left the luggage at the hotel to traveling in other places and came back to take my luggage in the evening — this is the best point that i love ❤️
AAnonymous UserRooms need to be updated but other than that, it’s great. Bed was comfortable and the towels were good to! Breakfast was good, staff was very friendly. The last morning they had the GM in the breakfast room helping out. Very nice and friendly lady.
GGexing~tianxiaThe rooms are pristine and, despite the hotel being open for just a year, there was no unpleasant dampness or strange smell from the water. The service was also excellent. It appears the hotel uses a water softening system, as my hair felt incredibly smooth after washing. The complimentary bottled water is also a custom-branded mineral water, which adds a touch of sophistication.
While not in the city centre, the hotel boasts excellent transport links. It's particularly well-served by buses; route 55 goes directly to Oxford Street, and route 205 takes you to King's Cross Station (convenient for trains to Cambridge and other cities). It's incredibly easy to get around from here – just remember to check the bus direction! When returning to the hotel, it's actually closer to alight at the bus stop after Old Street and walk from there.
Overall, this hotel offers fantastic value for money. Perhaps because it's a newly opened hotel still in its introductory phase, securing an Executive Room in London for just over 2000 RMB is genuinely a great deal.
OOllieSmithOne night stay at heathrow after a flight.
Emailed hotel the night before to ask for a nice view as it was my brothers birthday treat and he loved watching the planes. Had already booked a runway view room but some are on lower floors so more restricted. On arrival at the hotel they had upgraded us to a suite which was a really lovely gesture however we had booked a twin and the suite was a double. We asked for the sofa bed to be made up. After 4 visits to reception and a 5 hour wait, housekeeping finally made up the sofa bed. By this point we were extremely tired as we'd had a really long day so it did damper our experience a little. The birthday cake and note in the suite were a lovely touch.
With the upgrade, we were given access to the executive lounge which has a great view over the runway to watch the planes. Drinks available all day with alcohol in the evening and canapés. Unlike every other executive lounge ive been to, the canapés were served plated to your table which seemed a little strange and also made the service very slow as the lounge was full. Also meant there was a higher level of wastage as people didnt want some of the selection. Based on this visit, I wouldn't book a room for the lounge access. There are much better hotels at the airport with better lounges if that's what your looking for.
Beds were extremely comfortable. Lovely bathroom. Again, great view of the runway. Aircon wouldn't go below 20 which was a little annoying with how warm London is at the moment.
Great selection at breakfast. Friendly staff. Delicious food.
I would stay here again but wouldn't worry about access to the executive lounge as that was disappointing.

GGuest UserHotel room was a nice size for me and my family the pool was nice for the kids to swim in.
We had the breakfast for two days which catered for all our needs and was presented really nicely.
We ended up staying an extra night as was happy
with the facilities
For having children the location was a bit out of the way but I would say that was the only down side.
LLeoYuanThe second stay, the first time I lived in two rooms and one living room, this time it was one room and one living room, and it felt more spacious than the last time. It was just before checking out that I found the heating switch, and I forgot to close the window. I froze for one night.
DDJ RazLoved the vibe of the hotel, rooms were clean and cozy, bathroom felt quite small but overall a comfortable stay. Tube station is quite a walk away but there is a bus station right opposite the hotel that can take you to central london easily.
Shoreditch is quite vibey and up and coming!
GGuest UserWe visited for my husbands birthday and our Wedding anniversary. The hotel was stunning from the entrance to the lounge decor to the room. We were kindly given an upgrade and were so very grateful. The room was amazing, nice and clean. The staff were all very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was brilliant, a great selection and something for everyone. The location is perfect. Thank you so much for making our stay in London just perfect. We will definitely be back. Thanks Jade and Simon
