Booked a private room and it exceeded my expectations. The hostel has been newly renovated so the rooms are modern and clean. Spacious bed with a nice side sofa, free washer and dryer with detergent provided, and the location is stellar, right next to the main street and subway. Highly recommend

This trip to Fuyuan East Pole, accommodation gives a good review, is a double guarantee of service and experience. As a county town in Jiamusi City, Fuyuan is mostly a homestay. In the end, I chose a youth hostel. The ”all the way east” service is warm and thoughtful. The Youth Hostel is strategically located and convenient to travel. There is a bus to the door as soon as the train station is out of the station. They are both hygienic and safe, the bedding is changed for each guest, and the ”bedding is clean” and the ”healthy environment is good” have won the praise of many backpackers. Secondly, the two-day professional and intimate double support service of the guide single master makes us feel that the itinerary planning is reasonable and saves time. Driving safely and steadily throughout the whole journey, by optimizing the route, help tourists to check in the attractions efficiently. For example, the single master will adjust the itinerary according to the sunrise time, departing at 2:20 am to the East Polar Square, the sunrise time is just right, not too early. In addition, he has a lot of local knowledge and has experienced localized services to add cultural thickness to the trip. They are not only familiar with the history of the attractions, but also recommend authentic food and special activities. They will explain the production process of fish skin handicrafts, so that tourists can experience the culture of non-legacy in depth. I love the location of this hostel. It was just right across the Zhongyang Street subway stop (Line 2). If you go to the Ice and Snow World Park, that's only three stops away for only, if I remember right, RMB 2. Make sure to read/check the other reviews for photos of the gate that will lead you to the door of this hostel. I arrived in the morning, about 10 a.m., and was welcomed by JP. After sorting out my things, I left my luggage to head to the Ice and Snow World Park where I stayed until 5 p.m. I took the subway back to Zhongyang Street. I planned on walking from there to Saint Sophia Cathedral but it was too cold for me. I live in Beijing but I am originally from the Philippines so even if I was dressed warm - thermal clothes, hot packs, several layers, downjacket, scarves, beanies, ear muffs - it was still brrrr cold! I took a Didi car from there to the cathedral and spent about 30 minutes there and then went back to the hostel. There was a social night going on downstairs but I was so beat that day I just decided to rest. I briefly interacted with a lady from Singapore named Megan. The following day, I walked from the hostel to Hongzhuan Morning Market which is a culture of its own. Come hungry and happy! From there, I took a Didi to go to the No. 6 factory of Harbin Pharmaceutical Group Holding Co. It is dubbed as the ”Louvre of the East” but having visited the Louvre itself, it doesn't really come close. I think the moniker just came from the fact that there are several paintings and art collection in the building and the area outside feels a bit like you're in Europe. Another Didi ride got me to Lao Daowai or the Chinese Baroque Street then another Didi to Central Street. Don't miss these two as they are filled with worthy buildings and spots to marvel, photograph of or buy trinkets from. Harbin was the last stop of my northeastern China winter sojourn. Will I come back? Maybe. Will I stay in this hostel? Maybe. I like the arrangement of the beds in this 16-people dorm for girls but the bathroom is a squat toilet and I don't like that. If I ever stay here again, I will choose the rooms with Western-style toilets.

Very good location. Close to Zhongyang street and 10 minutes walk to Hong zhuan morning market. Staff here are young people, they can speak some English and we sometimes use translator to chat with them. They were very helpful and enthusiastic. Wifi here also was fast in a lobby and also in the room. Airport drop off and pick up was also good. The room is small though but it's okay when compare with the price and location during peak period (winter season).

This youth hostel is just the best youth hostel I have ever been to. The people are really nice, friendly and can speak english. This is a must place in Harbin. It's a lot of fun for kids and adults to be able to be creative, cook, and play music or sing on the stage. We made a pen out of wood, and made some baozi. I recommend it for people who want to have fun and make some new friends. We have great souvenirs of this place and hope to be able to come back soon. The Springer family

Stayed here for 3 consecutive days. The boss was very nice and recommended places to eat. It was also very cheap. It was very convenient to stay here. I visited all the nearby attractions. The night market and morning market were only a few hundred meters away. It is worth recommending

This is my third time to stay in this hostel. The staff here are very helpful and provide very useful information about places to go and dinning places, etc. Since I made a last minute short trip away the Harbin, the hostel has a flexibility to provide a cancellation of the room without charge. In general, staff here are very nice and the atmosphere of the hostel is good. You can join their group to get /provide useful travel information. If you have interested to join hostel activities such as short trip, board games, it is welcomed to ask the front line staff too. Collaboration makes things better. Last but not least, the cat star here is very popular.

I heard that this youth hostel has been open for more than ten years, but it is not shabby at all. The environment is very clean. There is a lobby, a public activity area, a bed room, a single room, a double bed room, and a Northeast-style big fire bed, the kind of earthen kang that is really burned with fire. I also saw the boss burning fire for the guests that day. It was a very novel experience 3️⃣Activities: Going to Dongji Square to watch the sunrise and to Hei** Island are both far away, so you must have a car. Friends who don’t drive don’t have to worry. You can directly find Guanshu to sign up for a one-day carpooling tour. You don’t even need to make a guide. He will take you to all the attractions in Fuyuan in one stop, including Dongji sunrise, the first outpost in the East, Wusu Town, Hezhe National Village, the easternmost post office, Hei** Island, cranberry base... You can also have authentic Northeast breakfast and authentic Hezhe fish noodle soup. The price for carpooling is also very cost-effective, only 100 yuan, and it also comes with a free travel commentary. Along the way, I can listen to Uncle Guan introducing the local scenery and culture. The explanation is detailed and rich in content. It is equivalent to not only hiring a chartered driver, but also a professional tour guide. It is such a good deal! 4️⃣Service: Brother Yang at the front desk is very nice, humorous and enthusiastic. When he saw that my suitcase was very large, he took the initiative to help me carry my luggage. He was super considerate! He is gentle and doesn't talk much, but whenever there is a problem or issue, he is the first person you turn to for help. He is almost always in the store, which makes people feel at ease! ! 5️⃣The significance of staying in a youth hostel is not only that it is cheap, but more importantly, you can find people to share cars, play together, and eat together. The dishes in Northeast China are generally large in quantity, and it is difficult to order dishes when there are few people. It is also a waste if you order too much and cannot finish the food. Therefore, Guan Shu will help organize friends to share meals together, eat Northeastern dishes, eat iron pot stews, etc. There are rich dishes when there are many people, and the AA price is also very cost-effective. 6️⃣Fuyuan characteristics: fish! Here you can find three or five friends and have a fish feast together. Wow, the taste is so blissful. There are more than a dozen fish dishes on the table, in various ways, fried, pan-fried, steamed, braised, fish ball soup, sashimi. You can eat anything you can't think of, hahahaha (Friendly reminder: the dishes here are generally salty, so those who prefer light taste should remember to greet the chef in advance) 7️⃣Finally, I have to praise Uncle Guan separately. He is super considerate, warm-hearted, and considerate of everything. Travelers who come to stay in the hotel can contact him and he can arrange all your problems for you, from plane/train pick-up, to sightseeing in Fuyuan, tasting food, to all the companionship during the trip. He will make you feel particularly thoughtful and warm. He is simply our Fuyuan know-it-all! ! ! There is no one else in Fuyuan who can be as thorough as him. He is also an old child with a childlike innocence. He can chat and play with us young people. He is enthusiastic but reserved, humorous but not ostentatious. He is like the respected uncle in the family. He is calm and reliable, but not distant. People want to get close to him and he is trustworthy.

A magical youth hostel, a place where people can't leave after they stay. I have lived here for a month without realizing it. I remember that when I came here, it was still cold and rainy in Harbin, and the branches had just sprouted. When I left, it was already midsummer. Both the environment inside the hostel and the community downstairs are very humane and pleasant. The boss has carefully decorated every corner of the house, which is beautiful and generous. It can be seen that he is a careful person.
