Hotel location is close to cafe, metro and 15 mins away from bus station. The receptionist are very kind and helpful ,Sara & Lilian, make the stay more enjoyable.

The room was over 400 per night, but it was too small! Two suitcases couldn't fit in. Two bottles of free water were given. The shampooing and showering in the bathroom were very simple, just like our county 20 years ago. The advantage is that the location is good, in the city center, and it is convenient to go out. The attitude of the front desk guy was very good, and he spoke good English. The second appointment was made for us breakfast at 5 o'clock.

The staff here is very friendly and helpful. I met so many lifelong friends here, even travelled the country with a couple people I met here. The common room is air-conditioned and comfortable. Breakfast is good, but the same everyday. The bathrooms are clean and I like the curtains on the beds in the dorms. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is very close to the museum and is also easy to go to the 々 area. It may be a good idea to take a walk around Giza or Cairo based here because it is accessible from the airport in less than １ time.

The location is good as the station, museum and main street are close, but the entrance to the hotel is difficult to understand. It is on a lonely street. Go up to the 13th floor and check in. There was no cooler. The kettle was borrowed. It was written that there was a bathtub, but there was no plug and hot water could not be stored. It is a hotel with a season, but breakfast is served and the staff was good, so I think it's okay if I think about the price.

AAnonymous UserIn general, it is not bad for me to stay in a single room with a common bathroom for 10 nights.
Above all, I would like to express my gratitude to the staff's efforts to manage the City Hostel clean which is too old and out fashioned building.
* Location & Transportation
Without noise, it is the best location to stay. It is located at 2 2-minute walk distance from Attaba subway station that connects to the Ramsis Railway Station and the Egypt Museum, only 1~3 stops away, charging 6 EGP per way. Of course, you can go to both by walk in 20 minutes. It means you can also enjoy the Nile riverside which is close to the museum.
And it is a 2-minute walk distance from the Attaba market which is the biggest public market in Cairo and so many locals visit to buy their livelihoods stuff at a cheap price.
In addition, you can also walk to the Al Azhar Mosque and Khan El-Khalili traditional market in 30 minutes, and St. Marc Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in AL Azbakeya in 10 minutes
Two problems I experienced are firstly the noi⁹sy from 8 am to 3 am outside the building due to market area and cars' horns. It took 3 days for me to adapt it. Any room in the hostel cannot escape it without changing the windows to soundproof ones. If you are sensitive to sound, it is better to find other lodges in a residential area or modernized ones.
Secondly, its location on the Uber taxi map and other maps is not accurate, so drivers have some problems in finding the city hostel. I have to meet them in front of the KFC next to the Attaba subway station. The signboard of the hotel is too small to recognize it.
* Building and room conditions
Like many other buildings in Cairo, the hostel building is old and shabby. The interior design and facilities are also outdated. However, the staff manages it so clean, particularly a common toilet and shower room.
It is quite convenient a washstand in each room.
However, it is bad there is no electronic kettle to boil water in a room or a common space. I could not enjoy my tea or coffee time at any time. I have to ask for hot drink water every morning when receiving breakfast, and store it in my tumbler.
It will be better to provide a tea or coffee service area in the hostel.
* Cleanness & Safety
Cleanness and safety are very good. I have no issue with this.
* Services
There is no basic service that most guesthouses provide in general: toilet paper and drink water.
Wifi is too weak to use the internet.
Other services like laundry are satisfied.
* Others
During my stay, I couldn't enjoy having an exchange time with other travelers. I think it is because there is no reason to stay in a common space where only sofas and a table are. Largely guesthouse provides a commonplace where guests enjoy better the internet or drinks including tea or coffee and foods, which makes guests meet each other naturally and structurally.
In conclusion, if the hostel provides basic services like toilet paper and commonplace with drink water and electronic kettles, it will be much better.
And it is necessary to change its signboard so that is more recognizable.
Except issues I mentioned above, it is a very good budget lodge.

GGuest UserWhen we arrived, it was a little difficult to find the building, because there was no sign of Lucky Hostel in the lobby. However a very persistent man outside, insisted that the building with sign “El otel”, is the correct building. We trust him and we entered. Another problem, it looked like to use the elevator to 4th floor, we must have access card. We wait for about 5 minutes and fortunately there was a man came down, and we asked his help to tap on the elevator using his card. Other than that, my husband & I were happy to stay in this hostel. Our room was so big and with sofa too!! Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was good. Hot shower was very pleasant in cold morning. And we were very happy that the staff allow us to put our luggage while we were away to Luxor. We stay for total of 4 nights and we were allowed again to put our luggage while we went shopping, because our flight was in the middle of the night.

BBeckCastle Hotel is the best place to discover Cairo! It felt like home to me. I was in 8 different hotels in Cairo on my tour: castle hotel is my family and my choice no1 now. I know where to go to on future trips. Castle Hotel :) The hotel is located in the 16th floor, so you have the best view you can find. You can see so far. You can the city, the Nile, a little bit of a pyramid. Best traffic connection because ramses street. Shops 1 minute walk. Abu tarek koshari 5 minute walk, river Nile 5 minute walk. The staff is amazing. Friendly, always willing to help, welcoming, discrete. It’s a very nice vibe up there. The sounds of the city far away. Very relaxing. Next time I book an extra night just to enjoy the view. It’s just vibrant there and you feel the energy of the city. Can’t wait to come back! Thank you for everything! See you!

The facility is okay - The place is quite old but clean.
The hotel staff here are very nice especially Mr Anas he was quite energetic and really looking forward to service + friendly

** note** for someone who cannot sleep with the noise - the hotel is quite close to the Egyptian Street which is always honking the horn.
Solution ** ust bring an earplug ( The one that you would receive on in airplane ) and everything's gonna be fine
In conclusion this hotel is reasonably priced for this quality. if you don't expect for something luxury but friendly , This hotel could be your choice

You will need to carry your luggage up the stairs for one floor after taking the lift (goes up to the sixth floor) which is something to note if you have heavy luggage. Room is basic but comfortable enough, would like to suggest putting more hooks in the toilet and more electrical outlets.

DDiazThe hotel is very simple, the stuff is very friendly and helpful, they gave me early check in.
We stayed 4 days they cleaned the room 2 times, we had to ask for toilet paper every time we needed it. The towels didn’t work very well (polyester), very noisy area, and we were in the first floor were you could hear what everybody in the forts floor were doing in the corridor, nobody controls noicy people.

There were all kinds of problems with this hotel. First, because it was my second time staying at this hotel, I deliberately did not make a reservation in advance and went directly to the hotel to ask them the price. The hotel said the price for one night was 970 ebms, which shocked me. I checked the platform and found that the price for one night was only more than 400. Then I made a reservation on the platform, and the hotel staff was very unhappy. Second, my friend came to the hotel to visit me. As soon as he stepped into the door of the hotel, the hotel staff ran to me and said that I needed to pay 200 ebms because I brought a friend in. I said I was leaving soon and was not here. He said no, as soon as you come in, you must pay 200 ebms before you can leave. Fortunately, when I checked in, I told their staff that a friend would come to see me the next day, and he said OK, so I escaped. In summary, this hotel has many pitfalls. You must ask clearly when making a reservation, otherwise it is easy to fall into the trap.
