The Cosener's House

We had a prosecco afternoon tea here, and they couldn't have been more accommodating making everything gluten free for me! It felt like it was no trouble at all. And the food was all lovely and freshly made, the scones were particularly good as well as the sandwiches.

We stayed for 4 nights and it was very nice. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The ground floor family room was very good. Large space double sofa bed for our son and our bed was comfortable. The 4 star is due to the wifi _ you have to scan a qr code and with a laptop for work it proved difficult to add on. Another bonus would be an information folder with contact details for reception and local information. Plus French doors on the ground floor would be an asset as you could sit outside on a lovely evening. The breakfast was good 2 days you could choose from a menu an extra would be maybe avocado on toast. The buffet was nice but preference was for the menu choice. The hotel is very close to the town centre and it has some great places to eat. The bus to Oxford is a short walk too. I would recommend this hotel to couples and families and business visitors.

We recently hosted our Board dinner at The Cosener's House and the entire experience was outstanding, thanks to the incredible team behind the scenes. The food was absolutely delicious, and the dining room was perfectly quiet, creating an intimate and private atmosphere for the evening. A special shoutout to Michelle, the events organiser as well as Heney and the two waitresses who were on duty that night. They were so attentive and friendly, ensuring the food service flowed seamlessly after our speeches. Heney was especially impressive, even adding tea and coffee last minute—something I hadn’t even thought of! His ability to adapt on the spot made everything run smoothly. The event felt effortless, and the attention to detail from the entire team really elevated the evening. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and look forward to working with them again in the future. Highly recommend for any event!

Good Room and facilities, good bed with an excellent shower, appreciated. Helpful and courteous staff. Excellent breakfast choices, continental or cooked. Good evening meal very tasty. Very good WIFI. Ideally situated to visit the town centre. I would recommend a stay here.

The Cosenors House is run by a great team who really know how to look after guests. It's very rare to have this level of friendly personal service in an age of 'self check in' and 'vending machines', and all at a competitive rate. Always an enjoyable stay. Also a great location, walking distance from Abingdon town centre and the Thames. Very secluded and tranquil setting, with river views from the breakfast room.
