So, despite my 6 year old breaking her arm this week on the monkey bars. Which defo impacted the holiday. Like a lot. Here is my take. Good. 1. Restaurant changes are an improvement, no queues on the stairs anymore. The food now is in same place twice and reduces the stupid lines of people everywhere. Yes the wine on tap is poor, but honestly what do you expect? 2. Day time animation is a whole new world, massive uplift in fun and frolics. Remember this is family holiday spot, so it gets noisy. It’s fun to watch and the entire team are great. 3. Bloke with blonde hair at the bar, lovely lovely bar man. Attentive and intelligent. 4. Breakfast by the sea, calm, tranquil and what a view. Less choice than up top but LOVELY and the two ladies who support each day amazing. 5. Room Service, literally had the same two ladies these past 4 years at Roda. They cuddle and baby my daughter (broken arm) but every day house keeping is just perfect. Along with new coffee, tea and water. 6. The daily Gyros. The young men who do this for 7 hours a day, brilliant.Hot work. 7. Ice cream lady by the beach, she is lovely, always saying sorry if people need to queue, it’s busy no? 8. Evening entertainment, we stayed for 16 nights and this place has an A game now. 9. Food is fine for a family all inclusive. 10. The spa, love this place. Wife and Daughter had various bits and the lady who stands in front of the steps by the restaurant is just lovely. The Bad. 1. Reception staff were a bit meh, when daughter broke her arm (and face etc) . Taxi ordered to Roda medical place (brill btw, for Brits seen immediately, X Ray, cast and all cuts and stuff cleaned and dressed) . Free appointment following day by kiddie Doctor to reset cast and give advice and certificate to fly. Reasonable cost too. 2. Reception staff. Really no votes from me here, booking a taxi for my daughter got 3 eye rolls for not having a hire car. Really. Overall, the town of Roda is close, with shops, some lovely beach front restaurants and a cool walk along the beach. The hotel can cover you off without a doubt. I asked my daughter (broken arm as well) do you wanna come back again and she was like yes Daddy. That’s the thing, a place where you get views, the Ionian Sea and get to unwind. Proper family time. Final word, the monkey bars at adult gym watch your kids like a hawk. You can easily fall.
