Mellow Hostel Sri Lanka

The love for the ocean and my intent to “reset”, before taking on a new work assignment took me to Ahangama. Their close proximity to Kabalana beach, good pricing and their great digital content on social media made to choose Mellow hostel. What made me book a second trip and return to Mellow Hostel was because it made me feel at home… Sure enough the rooms were not as fancy as the pictures (they come very close though), and yes the food at some eateries in close proximity might be better (and slightly more expensive), but what you don’t see in the pictures are the warmth of the staff, the fact that it’s a smelting pot of people from different parts of the world, the opportunity for insightful conversations and deep friendships with likeminded people of different walks of life, the multiple activities to fill your day (and a good break from surfing) and a good balance of balancing work and tasting paradise. I highly recommend Mellow Hostels (they do have private single/double occupancy rooms too) irrespective if you are a traveling solo, with friends or with family. They are purpose driven and it shows in the way they lead their people and serve their guests. It’s only a matter of time they I go back to Mellow Hostels for some vitamin sea 😉🌊🏄☀️❤️
