Paraiso de Alcudia

Just had 12 nights at Paraiso. Lovely beach front setting and quiet at night. All the staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms were lovely and clean and no signs of bed bugs much to our relief! We did self cater and the kitchenette was enough for our needs. The Spar opposite does fresh baguettes but is expensive for most things so take a 15 min walk to Lidl for your supplies. We managed to get sun beds most days but if we didn’t we just went to the beach instead. Do buy a parasol and screw in holder as the wind picks up in the afternoon and the parasols fly away. It works out cheaper than paying for a lounger. The sea is shallow and warmer than the pool so very enjoyable. There was only one entertainment act a night but that didn’t bother us as we walked to the port most evenings. Do take mosquito repellent as we got bitten whilst on the beach in the evening. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable hotel to holiday in.

We found bed bugs in our first room and the whole family got bitten. After complaining in the reception we were moved to another room in the other side of the building which also had bed bugs which we found out after one night. The hotel denied that this problem existed and that they havent found any when investigating and thought that changing bedding set and clean was the solution. We have provided photos and film To TUI of the bugs itself, egg and skin as well as all the bites and we have been in contact with medical support which confirmed that this is bed bugs bites the whole family got. We also were in contact with TUI guides on site several times and one of the guides told us that it has been many complains during the seasons for bites. We decided to move to another hotel on our own since TUI took very long to execute a hotel change request and couldn't meet the preferences we first booked this hotel for. From our point of view the hotel and TUI has handle this unseriously and its impossible to get in touch with someone from TUI since they have stoped answering on the email thread we had during the vacation and we cant get hold of any responsible at the HQ. We hoped for more from such a big company.

Good location right on the beach (which is a really great beach!). Some okay eating spots nearby but we were told you have to go all the way in to Alcudia to get decent food (too touristy and crappy nearby). Not so handy when you have two small kids. Really nice staff and ok breakfast. Loved the fresh pressed orange juice. Hotel and rooms are pretty clean. Really disappointed in the constant night shows every night which are super loud and cheesy. This hotel was recommended as a place for families with small kids but it’s really not kid friendly when you have dance music, Baby Shark, Macarena and other music blasting every single night from the pool/scene area. After a long day on vacation with your kids where you want some peace and and quiet, you don’t want music pumping up into your hotel room. You basically can’t go to sleep until after 10:30 pm. The rooms are also paper thin so you can hear the next door neighbour talking, snoring and peeing in the middle of the night. Lastly, I don’t understand the lights from the doors/entrances and transparent curtains in the master bedrooms, which means light creeps into the room all night. Make the curtains thick… Nice enough hotel and great pool. We had a good time but I wouldn’t book this place again. Please stop the terrible evening shows.
