Wentworth Hotel

Loved this hotel. Warm, welcoming, very comfortable lounge areas and some beautiful pieces of period furniture. Nice bar with an intimate “clubby” feel to it. The staff are excellent, professional yet friendly, a credit to the hotel. My wife and I chose a large room on the second floor with a large bay window and sea views. This was a great choice giving lots of room, two comfortable armchairs and a table in the bay window. We particularly enjoyed this as we have large rooms at home and sometimes hotel rooms can feel rather cramped. The bed was a super king double and super comfy! We went on the bed breakfast and dinner option and we are glad we did. The food is without doubt some of the best we have enjoyed in any hotel and we have stayed in quite a number at home and abroad over many years. The quality is of the highest order and the choice, cooking and presentation superb. The restaurant, because that’s what it is rather than a “dining room “ is lovely with a good ambiance consisting of a main area and a conservatory area in which we ate. The restaurant staff were excellent, and were always attentive when needed, for example I dropped a knife on the floor and a staff member was over in a shot to pick it up and replace it with a fresh one. That is representative of the quantity of the service. It is very popular with non residents as well as residents and that creates a nice atmosphere. All in all a great two night stay. We will be visiting Aldeburgh in the future and as far as we are concerned this is the only place to stay.

Best hotel stay ever! Room was spacious, tastefully decorated and the bed was super comfy. Bathroom was a decent size with a very easy to use state of the art shower. The chocolates in the room were a nice touch. It was very quiet with no late night noise which I appreciated. All meals were perfect, a great variety and cooked to perfection. Pleasantly surprised that the our half board evening meal was three course. All staff were pleasant and helpful. You will not be disappointed if you stay here as it was perfect and excellent value for money.

Sshhh don’t tell anyone else about this great independently run seaside hotel, where it feels like a home from home and the food is fabulous or we won’t be able to return next year for our New Years celebration. Our group of 8 friends had a wonderful time including Bobby the cocker spaniel. The staff are so friendly and helpful , nothing is too much trouble, and it’s in a great location, next to the beach, near the shops and a brisk walk away from another of the best kept secrets the Kitchen in Thorpeness. We have already reserved our rooms for next new year eve. Thank you all the staff and Chris and a happy new year!

I went with a group of friends for a festive meal. Why do restaurants insist in making vegetarians feel like 2nd class citizens? First course was fine [hummus and warm pitta bread]. My friends had a turkey roast dinner with all the trimmings. I ordered nut roast which was accompanied with 4 brussels sprouts and 6 whole green beans. No roast potatoes, no carrots, no parsnips and no gravy. Very poor deal for £27.50.

Great location, beautiful hotel Fantastic hotel. We had a lovely romantic break, enjoying the hotel and its great location. There are lots of lovely lounges and quiet places to sit and read or enjoy a drink, or enjoy the view from the terrace. The staff were friendly and very helpful and the breakfast was superb. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.
