Old Town Alicante

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Old Town Alicante, and I feel compelled to warn other travelers. Firstly, the property is listed as a hotel on booking platforms, but it is, in fact, a budget hostel. This misrepresentation is misleading and sets false expectations for guests expecting hotel-level amenities and service. To make matters worse, I was unable to check in due to a flight delay (Flight PHHI2M from Barcelona to Alicante on June 25, 2025, delayed by 4 hours). Upon arrival after 8:00 PM, I was informed of an unadvertised 15 EUR late check-in fee, which was not mentioned anywhere in the booking conditions. This lack of transparency is unacceptable and feels like a hidden charge to exploit guests. The overall experience was frustrating, and the misrepresentation of the property combined with the unexpected fee made it impossible to recommend Old Town Alicante. Travelers should be cautious and clarify all conditions before booking.

DO NOT STAY HERE! The lack of communication is terrible: the did not contact us regarding the check in, we arrived 9 pm and no reception, no answer from anyone. We could stay at the hotel the night we paid. Also if you arrived before 9 pm you have to paid 15 euros just for your late check in - insane.

I stayed here for a short trip in April. Rooms were just what you need, very comfortable and cost efficient. Beds super comfortable and staff went above and beyond to help me. Very close to all amenities and close to the beach. Yea and coffee making facilities on the landing and 2 bathroom and showers. Noise was kept to a minimal and I slept very well. Thank you to Maria and staff for a pleasant stay and I would not hesitate to stay here again. Mil gracias
