Fort Dadhikar, Alwar

Fort Dadhikar is a heritage property right now turned into a hotel. It is supposed to be 6kn from Alwar city but the road to reach is quite treacherous through the jungle via Bala Quila entrance. Following the jungle area the road takes a picturesque turn ***** hills to reach a point of nothing but the fort on a hill top. There is an entry fee of 250 INR for people not staying there and this gets covered against a cup of tea or coffee at their restaurant. The entry to parking has a steep turn upwards so be careful while you drive up the way. The place has 18 rooms so not enough space for parking. It is a pet friendly place so people who are not pet lovers might not be entertained. The property is colorful with a range of bougainvillea giving it a vibrant feel. The structure is made up like an old fort which is newly constructed. This property does not have lifts or pools and has maintained the rustic look of the fort. The rooms are spacious but badly maintained with not enough staffs attending to the same. The restaurant is quite small with both inside and outside seating areas . The menu range is quite limited. The lunch buffet costs about 1250 INR inclusive of entry fee which is pretty high considering the range of items they showcased. The roof top feels good with the full view of the road and land around. All over an ok place for middle aged adults but touch to take kids or elderly people.

I visited fort dadhikar yesterday with my wife and 2 kids paid 13000 with breakfast and dinner. Things I liked it's location around 3 hours from Delhi. It is located on a hill which is very picturesque. Staff is polite and food is good. Things I do not like. To start with I paid Ind 500 toll (return) from gurgaon which is not worth it as whole way is dusted and had bad patchy road specially 18 kms road leading to the fort. If you are visiting the place make sure you do not visit it from April to July basically if is best to visit in rainy season to enjoy it's scenenic beauty as if is on a small hill or in winters. Trust me I changed 3 rooms yesterday and I was sweating in night with two ton AC's yes somehow. Please do not visit this place if you are scared of Lizards. There were many in room, in dining area etc. All rooms have so many gaps big ones in windows and doors so attracting a lizard is easy. Toilet dirty, toilet seat broken, torn blinds and curtains. I think I should not describe more. Oh yes major issue bathrooms taps and shower had mild current (electric) running which spooked my whole family. Looks like some wiring issue also which is complained about. Check pics that I have uploaded.
