This magnificent castle was built in the 13th century and rebuilt in the 16th. It is watched over by its two towers. Inside a certain bygone charm prevails. The bedrooms are perfectly suited to the spirit of the place with four-poster beds looped curtains 16th and 18th century furniture and bathrooms decorated with marble and wood. The swimming pool and vast terrace are ideal places to relax. We stayed here from December 19-21, 2023. This is a beautiful hotel, well, really a castle! The grounds are very nice and there is even a Michelin rated restaurant located on the grounds. The rooms are big and well appointed. The staff are very helpful and friendly. This location is great as a base while exploring the nearby castles and chateaus, of which there are many. There is parking on the grounds, and also nearby places to dine and drink. One of the more unique locations we have stayed on our journeys.

On our recent trip to France, we had the pleasure of staying here at Château De Pray. The château was very elegant and comfortable, surrounded by lots of history (both at the château and in the nearby chateaus in the Loire Valley. The staff was both friendly and welcoming (with a nod to Pierre, Gwendoline, and Frederique). Plus, our room and all of the common areas were inviting and comfortable. We will always consider Château De Pray our home whenever we're in the Loire Valley in France!

My husband and I are in our 60s and seasoned travelers. I felt that the employees (mainly at the front desk) treated us as “old uneducated physically unfit people”. I understand they often deal with bus tours and they are used to this clientele needing extra attention. I didn’t expect this from a 4 ⭐️ property. Our bedroom was compact and very comfortable. The food was average and I was surprised I had to pay €8.5 for a coffee. The young women in the dining area were lovely and hospitable.

We stayed at Chateau De Pray the first 4 nights of our trip to France. The staff were very welcoming, the room comfortable, and the atmosphere what we had hoped for to start our trip. Breakfasts were ample and very good and the restaurant was excellent.

The 6 of us wanted to experience life in a chateau & we got that at the Chateau du Pray. The grounds are lovely & inviting with beautiful views. The chateau itself is well maintained & lovely rooms. Breakfast was yummy and the staff was more than accommodating. We were there for 2 nights & wished the highly rated restaurant were open for at least 1 of those nights, however the hotel staff provided us with small menu selection upon our arrival. Wish we had more time to stay & relax & enjoy the beautiful pool (need warmer weather) Highly recommend this chateau.
