Clear Horizon

We spent a week here and were put in Room 204 in an adjacent apartment block as the main building seemed to be full of Dutch groups. The negatives: The beds in our room were very firm and had foot boards so no good for anyone over 6ft like myself. The bathroom was a wet room but the shower had no curtain around it so literally everything gets soaked and the floor flooded which you have to mop after every use. There are no safes in the room so you rent one for €10 a week which is situated in the main hotel reception. Our room only got cleaned twice and on consecutive days. The positives: If you want a quiet seafront location then this is perfect. It has great views and you can walk down onto a very small beach. We pre-paid for the breakfast and I have to say, having stayed at various similar hotels, it was the best we had ever had with a great choice of hot and cold food. The staff make this an enjoyable visit, they are friendly and attentive The owners Andreas and Martina are lovely and do work hard to try to give you a great stay but please remember this is a 2* budget accommodation so don't come here expecting 5* facilities!

Amoudi is a lovely place. Great views over the bay to Kefalonia. Clear Horizon is a lovely place to stay. Clean, spacious rooms with a good regular maid service. The Restaruant is lovely. The view is stunning and the food is delicious. We ate dinner there most evenings and always enjoyed it. The people are so friendly and really want you to have a good time. Martina and Andy are always around to help and Pamela in the restaurant is so sweet The beach is narrow but the bay is lovely and makes it so calm and sheltered. All in all a lovely place to stay for a relaxed break

We spent 2 lovely weeks at Clear Horizon which was recommended by friends. It's a simple but clean hotel, directly overlooking the sea and from our balcony we had wonderful views over to Kefalonia. Hosts Andy & Martina and daughter Pamela were very friendly and made sure we had all we needed. Andy picked us up from the airport free of charge. (There is no airport bus.) We booked half board and enjoyed copious breakfasts and tasty Greek dinners in the evening. As public transport was practically non-existent, we rented a car for three days to explore the island (detailed map essential!) and took 2 tours: a day's boat trip round Zakinthos (take a picnic!) and another one over to Kefalonia with bus tour and a stop for lunch - all very good value and booked through Martina. Our room was a studio with kitchenette, TV and air conditioning. Everything was fine except the mattresses, which were not very comfortable, but we got used to them! The shower was rather narrow and we would have appreciated more ledges or hooks in the bathroom, but we knew it wasn't a five star hotel and everything else was well up to standard. We met up with other guests in the bar after dinner and many of them were regulars, going back year after year! It was so handy to have the beach close by and the lovely clean pool with sun beds for relaxing. Ammoudi is a quiet backwater off the beaten track but with a couple of supermarkets and bazaars selling the essentials and a few other hotels and bars - perfect for a relaxing holiday. We would definitely recommend this address - great value for money!

Spent a week in Amoudi staying at the Clear Horizon, lovely place to stay basic rooms, very clean and sea view what’s not to like. We stayed bed and breakfast and ate in the restaurant at night which was always good no complaints at all . The owners are very helpful and on hand when you need anything, and the waiting on staff were so friendly. The hotel is set right next to the sea with awesome views over to Kefalonia , the beach is quite small and the sea is absolutely beautiful great for swimming. Amoudi is a lovely village with about four tavernas great for a quiet relaxing holiday if that’s what your looking for .

What a fantastic 3 days we have had here this budget hotel is only 2 star but in my book made 5 stars by the views from the room over the clear horizon . Andrew and Martina never stopped working whether seving drinks food or cleaning the small but perfectly formed pool. The waitress in the restaurant made you feel welcome every morning and couldn't do enough for you. This is a small family run business who try hard to make your holiday happy which they did. Andrew and Martina run a brilliant budget hotel and this small village is unspoiled by tourists. If you want commercialised holiday then this is not for you if you want genuine people who care about you then this is the place for you ... Fantastic holiday experience I hope we will be back next year ..... I hope Andrew and Martina have a great year and enjoy their winter break ...Yamas

Wir haben dieses Jahr im Juni eine schöne Woche im Clear Horizon verbracht. Wir waren dort zu viert als Familie (alle bereits Erwachsen) und hatten das Apartment mit 2 getrennten Schlafzimmern gebucht. Das Apartment war nicht sehr große, aber das Badezimmer sehr schön neu renoviert, auch wenn aus der Duschbrause nicht sonderlich viel Wasserdruck kam. Es gab noch eine Küchenzeile mit Kühlschrank, und ein kleiner Fernseher im Schlafzimmer. Die Zimmer waren immer sehr sauber und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Besonders gut haben uns die beiden Balkone gefallen, einer mit seitlichem Meerblick und der zweite mit frontalem Meerblick. Wirklich fantastisch dieser Ausblick. Die Balkontüren waren mit Fliegengitter ausgestattet, sodass man die Balkontüre auch nachts offen lassen konnte und die Wellen hat rauschen hören. Der Pool war auch immer sehr sauber und es gab fast immer noch ein Liegeplätzchen. Wir haben den Tag aber lieber am Amoudi Beach verbracht, dort ist es auch immer schön leer, das Wasser ist glasklar und ab dem späten Mittag gibt es dort sogar ein paar Schattenplätze von den Bäumen, wirklich ein Traum. Das Frühstück im Hotel ist gut mit Brot, Wurst/Käse/Marmelade etc, verschiedene Müslis, frischem Obst, Rührei, Würstchen, Saft, Kaffee, Kuchen und täglich gab es noch ein kleines Extra z.b. frisch gemachte Pancakes oder FrenchToast. Abends waren wir immer in den Tavernen in Amoudi essen. Alle Hotelmitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und haben uns bei allen kleinen Problemen sofort geholfen. Wir hatten die ganze Woche einen Mietwagen gebucht, da wir noch mehr von Zakynthos erkunden wollten und Amoudi etwas abgelegen liegt und hier nur 2 mal täglich ein Bus fährt (zu nicht wirklich brauchbaren Uhrzeiten). Rundum hat uns der Aufenthalt im Clear Horizon sehr gut gefallen und wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. Vielen Dank für alles :-)
