Firstly the hotel is located directly in front of a tram which was very convenient for moving around locally in town, the rooms are well maintained and very nice. The breakfast buffet was amazing, would recommend adding it to your reservation as food in Amsterdam is quite expensive. We were checked in by Youssef, who was so nice, helpful and accommodating to my friends and I. Overall a wonderful experience and great customer service
At a quiet spot at the brink of the city, perfect for us given the need to be at RAI for conference every day. The metro is a short 5mins walk away. Service and breakfast are great, amenities are basic, would have appreciated a heads-up to bring own toothpaste, toothbrush and hair conditioner. In-room smart technology is unreliable and create couple of inconvenience, especially in the morning when it decides to stop work and we are left with no lights to turn on.
My stay at Ruby Emma was wonderful, despite a small inconvenience upon arrival—my assigned room hadn’t been cleaned yet. However, the hostess at reception was incredibly kind and highly reactive. She immediately reassigned me to a larger room on the 11th floor with the best view in the hotel. On top of that, she offered me two vouchers for free drinks at the hotel bar as a gesture of goodwill.
The atmosphere is lively, the rooms are super comfortable with a sleek, modern design, and the location is unbeatable. The train station is just a short walk away, with the city center only 8 minutes away and the airport just 15 minutes by train. A truly great experience!

The service is horrible. They hadn’t prepared my room when I arrived so I had to wait up to two hours. I imagine if I hadn’t constantly asked them if it was ready I would have had to wait longer. The first person I talked to wasn’t even apologetic about it, to the point that they were straight up rude. It’s nice that the other person I talked to was much more accommodating. My charger fell in the space between the bed and the wall and when I retrieved it, there were piles of dust under the bed. The walls and floors were also dirty as there were suspicious dried liquids on them. The person who changes/brings new bedding would also place them on the floor which is unhygienic.
The only nice things about this hostel is the park outside.
The start of a friends European tour started exceptionally at Mercure City. The Hotel was clean and rooms were quiet. Just a little far out of city centre but train is within walking distance.
Overall a great experience for the price. Would recommend to others
Because we lost our passport, the hotel reception is very nice!
They willing to help us pass the stored luggage to our arrange courier , would have been needing to take 14 hours flight if they didn’t help. Very appreciated for their service to hotel guests!
The place is nice, across there is a cafe.
Close to rai.
Their service is excellent. Appreciated that for the last bit !
It is a traditional European-style hotel with a good price. The breakfast is rich, and the rooms not close to the road are very quiet, suitable for business trips. There is an East Park nearby, which is very suitable for walking and sunbathing.
The reception was warm and the service was thoughtful. You will be seated first when checking in. Drinks and snacks will be prepared for you and then you can check in slowly. The breakfast was rich. I don't know if it was due to the translation or something else, but the basement written in Chinese on Ctrip was not the basement but the top floor. However, the parking fee for self-driving in Amsterdam is really explosive.
Review of Our Stay at a Hotel in Amsterdam
We recently stayed at a hotel in Amsterdam and had a mix of positive and negative experiences. First, let's start with the positives:
What We Liked:
The premises were quite nice. There's a bar downstairs, which is a great spot to unwind. Additionally, there are a few supermarkets and a traditional Dutch bakery right across the street, which made grabbing snacks and breakfast super convenient. The location is fantastic—just an 8-minute walk to the train station and a 4-minute walk to the bus and tram stops, making it easy to get around the city.
The room was just as shown in the pictures. The mattress was comfortable, and there was ample space to organize our belongings during our stay. The receptionists were really kind and welcoming, which made our check-in and stay more pleasant. We also enjoyed the style of the hotel, especially the lovely lobby with two pianos, a comfortable sofa, and some books and local information to relax and read.
What We Didn't Like:
While we had read other reviews about noise issues and poor sound isolation, we thought we'd be okay with it, considering our home is located in a town center near nightclubs. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. The noise wasn't from people talking but from doors slamming. From 11 pm until 3 am, there was a constant door slamming that made the floor and walls in our room vibrate every two to three minutes. It felt like we were next to a staff room or had a very active neighbor. To be able to sleep, we had to watch a movie until the slamming finally stopped. This constant noise didn't allow us to rest properly, and we woke up later than we wanted the next day. The slamming continued on the following day, so we decided to stay out as late as possible to avoid it. Fortunately, around 2 am, the noise decreased, and we managed to sleep.
Additionally, there was a funny smell in the corridors and the toilet. I found it unpleasant, but my husband wasn't bothered by it. If you are sensitive to smells, this might be something to consider. However, if you're not particularly sensitive, like my husband, it might not be an issue.
Conclusion:
Overall, while the hotel's location, amenities, and staff were great, the noise from door slamming and the smell in the corridors were significant drawbacks for us. If these issues could be addressed, it would make for a much more pleasant stay.

Great
GGuest UserThe Treasure Hotel in Amsterdam, I searched for the recommendation on Xiaohongshu and found it after repeated comparisons. I don't like the old and noisy on both sides of the canal, and this hotel is near the tram and subway, in fact, it is very convenient to go everywhere. The room has an industrial style, is spacious and comfortable, and there are racks for drying clothes in the bathroom. As long as you can travel by yourself and understand a few words of English, there is no problem staying here.
Sshuaiboy45The room is very clean. The hotel is in a good location, just next to the AMSTEL station, a 5-minute walk away. Many students live here and the atmosphere is relaxed. The breakfast and snacks are good. A very cost-effective choice.
GGuest UserWe were greeted by a friendly face, a complimentary glass of Prosecco and a stroopwafel which is always nice.
Self-checkin was easy and we were able to checkin to our room and hour early.
The hotel is quirky and has lots going on in the reception areas which gave the place a buzz… lots of students and meeting rooms.
Nearest metro is literally a minutes walk, buy a travel pass at the station machine and for €9 you get unlimited travel on the metro, trams and buses for 24 hours. It’s 4 stops to the centre of Amsterdam which takes about 7 mins and metros come quickly and are clean and safe.
Area around the hotel appears safe, there isn’t a shop which is open late nearby so I recommend stocking up of snacks/drinks from the supermarket on the opposite side of the road.
Room was clean, spacious and quiet with a modern bathroom. Could have done with an extra pillow but I didn’t ask for another as I was only staying one night.
