"With the good weather, this was a perfect resort hotel, except for a slightly dated feel, but it had that classic old-money vibe. The lake view was photogenic, but you couldn't look at it closely; the water seemed a bit eutrophic. The hotel has a free shuttle bus to Biarritz train station and airport, but we didn't know that and foolishly took the bus and taxi instead. We didn't experience breakfast or the overwater bungalows; personally, I think staying in a superior room was excellent enough."

"I discovered the hotel 10 years ago and used to come for the thalasso. Second time i come with the family to have some rest in their spa …very disappointed because it is NOT possible any more to relax. Every hour there is an aqua gym for the people NOT from the hotel …so you CAN NOT be quiet and USE the POOL. Loud music, screaming and too much people. Don’t go there if you want to relax in the spa … The cleaning service was not good enough (human’s and dog’s hairs). I asked the cleaning lady to wait until I will dress up and continue her cleaning she left and never come back. Restaurant has a beautiful view. Not so many dishes, but tasty . "

"A great couples hotel… the whole castle overlooking the lake is dreamy. Pool and deck are made to relax. Service is pretty much aligned with a relais & chateaux pedigree. Dinner was not at the level of the menu’s description neither with the price. I would not go there just for that…. Breakfast on the other hand was very good."

"This hotel is well-situated near a beautiful beach but it is not worth 4 stars. The food is mediocre, particularly at breakfast where you have one type of tasteless cheese (not local) every day, and there is no thought of offering you a fried egg or an omelette. The breakfast room is being reset for dinner as of 9am , in the midst of your meal -- just so that the staff can leave immediately at 10am. . The bar opens 15 minutes before dinner so forget about having a relaxing cocktail before you dine. It closes immediately after dinner too -- so forget about that late night drink. The fitness center opens at 9am so forget about a warm-up on the equipment before breakfast. In short the work schedules of the staff dominate the daily organization of this hotel, not the needs of the guests. It used to be better. We will never go again."
