Amazing stay at Return to Paradise. We stayed over Christmas day, and the staff and owners made it so special. The Christmas buffet was excellent. It was so dreamy to step out of our room and straight onto the beach. Definitely worth it and we will definitely stay again.

Before diving into the details, I want to acknowledge that most of the staff at the resort were genuinely lovely—warm, accommodating, and always willing to help. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Unfortunately, the reception staff were the exception. They came across as unhelpful and unfriendly, which was disappointing given they’re the first point of contact. One of the highlights was the daily newsletter from Aunty Pisupo—her witty comments and sense of humour gave us something to look forward to each morning. The food, however, was a letdown. With limited choices, we sampled nearly everything on the menu over our 8-night stay, and sadly, the only meal that was decent was the steak. It was all westernised, I would have liked to see a few more traditional items on the menu. Cocktails were enjoyable, but the bar service was inconsistent. A few staff members seemed forgetful—we nicknamed them “Dory”—as they’d take our order and then return minutes later asking if we wanted to order. Mix-ups with drink orders were frequent. The games room was underwhelming: a poor-quality pool table and no actual games. Transport was another challenge. The resort is about a 40-minute taxi ride from Apia, costing $80 AUD round trip. There were no shuttle buses available, and the two resort buses were reserved solely for tours. Room comfort was hit-and-miss. The air conditioning worked well, and the balcony was pleasant, but the beds were extremely firm, and the bed coverings were just cut pieces of fabric. The television did not work, neither did the room phone. The room towels were thin and grey—not what you'd expect from a resort. The beach towels were better than the room towels. It rained frequently during our stay, and while umbrellas were available at reception, none were provided in the rooms. On a brighter note, the beach itself was stunning, the beauty spa was relaxing, and the traditional Fia Fia show was vibrant and inclusive—a lovely cultural touch. Overall, while the location and some experiences were memorable, there were several areas that could benefit from improvement to truly deliver the resort experience promised. Whilst Samoa is a stunning place and the people are beautiful and friendly, unfortunately, I will not return to paradise.

We enjoyed a beachfront spacious villa and it's basic equipped kitchen with air conditioning in every room. Having a Kitchen was great to prepare own food as the resort food was very average and overpriced, but there is nowhere else you can walk to to eat or buy food. Breakfast buffet was ok but same same compared to other resorts we stayed at. The resort is down its own road away from all other resorts which is good for privacy. Nice beach to snorkel and swim in. Waves break close to shore. Tried the spa. Nice to have this option. Transfers and Tours are run, these are pricey but can be worth it for getting the local knowledge and not needing to rent a car. Water filter stations everywhere which increases the rating. Staff were good and responsive. Not the fanciest or cheapest resort but certainly a nice place to hang out.

Great location. Super friendly staff. Tidy grounds. Snorkelling was good. Had great fun with Tia and other staff at the karaoke. Food was ok. Awesome sunsets from the bar. Saw several whales breaching out to sea. Great place to chill out on the beach

Beautiful family owned resort. We had a garden breeze room which had a verandah and sea glimpses. The room was a little dated but absolutely fine. The buffet breakfast was simple but the staff so friendly, especially Lisi who was there most mornings keeping the buffet tidy and replenished. The breakfast chef was amazing with how the food just kept on coming on busy busy mornings. The Rock Pool Bar is a great place to relax in the evenings. Overall the staff are friendly and welcoming, especially in the restaurant and bar areas. We did have some problems with our itinerary which was dismissed by a receptionist which was disappointing but Mika was happy to help and resolved our issues. Tours are great and I hope to upload a photo of our tour guide and driver jumping off a cliff into a waterfall which enthralled the guests while on the Eastern beaches tour
