This property was not as pictured, noisy, and the staff was not very friendly or accommodating. Not to mention expensive for what you are getting.

Schöner Kurzaufenthalt
Das Personal ist ausgesprochen freundlich, das Zimmer sehr sauber und ruhig. Badezimmer ehler klein aber funktional. Das Frühstück einfach genial und das Essen im eigenen Restaurant ebenfalls sehr fein.
Der Fernseher (in unserem Zimmer) ist seitlich vom Bett ungünstig platziert. Preis insgesamt eher hoch.

Hotel is centrally located and has parking right in front of the hotel for free for an hour or there is a parking lot a block away that costs about 4 CHF for a day using the EasyPark app which for some reason was about half the cost of paying at the machine.

Great place to stay in the heart of Appenzell. The rooms were quite comfortable and the beds were good. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and it was excellent. I particularly enjoyed opening the windows of our room and listening to the church bells ringing in unison all across the valley to mark some special occasion (I think it was the end of the week-end). I wish I had more time to spend walking around the countryside.

I would consider it a classic old european hotel. Very fitting for the town of Appenzell. No elevators so you have to bring up your bags by the stairs. Small hallway, room and bathroom. Tight bedroom with a soft bed that was way to low to the floor. No A/C so we needed to keep windows open at night. Euro Cup was going on so a lot of car honking after the match that night. The Swiss must of won that night. Part of the fun when you travel. The shower was of good size with great pressure. Located in the center of town with parking in the plaza and in a near by garage. Staff at the front desk, wine later in the evening and at breadkfast where all very nice. The hotel is known for its exstensive wine selection. Had a glass ot two and they are right. Delicious.

Herzlichen Dank für die ausgezeichnet Gastfreundschaft die wir erleben durften. Im Zentrum von Appenzell wurden wir herzlich empfangen und bewirtet. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet und der Service mit viel Leidenschaft und Herzblut. Das Frühstück lies keine wünsche offen.
