Stunning location and amenities made this stay feel like a real treat. Prepare to relax and unwind with a cocktail or tea on the terraces overlooking the beautiful water and coastline. The valet, porters and Tom at reception were all wonderful. Tom made everything easy and even offered recommendations for the next 2 cities we were visiting in Ireland. Dinner in the bar restaurant at sunset was a lovely experience and the fish was perfectly prepared - absolutely delicious! Highly recommend!

A stunning gem that truly showcases the best of Irish hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Tom, Teresa, and the entire team, who truly embody the spirit of Irish hospitality. Everyone, including the friendly night porter (Sean?), made us feel completely at home. The accommodation is luxurious, offering breath-taking views and exceptional comfort. We stayed in a veranda sea view suite, which was just wonderful. Spacious, beautifully appointed, and equipped with everything you could possibly need. Fluffy robes, slippers, a coffee machine, fresh bottled water, and a fridge stocked with complimentary goodies made it feel extra special. Housekeeping topped up the room twice daily, keeping everything fresh and perfect throughout our stay. Dining here is a first-class experience too and a choice of restaurants, indoor and indoor. The food is exquisite and showcases the richness of the region. Come hungry, especially for breakfast, as the variety and quality are outstanding! The spa is equally impressive, providing a serene haven of relaxation. We especially loved the seaweed baths on the outdoor covered veranda overlooking the sea — simply amazing. This hotel is a perfect blend of elegance and warmth, and an unforgettable escape along the Irish coast. Highly recommended and we will be back!

I stayed one night with my girlfriend. Our room was lovely and the sea view was very picturesque. We were booked in for a 3 course meal in the bar. It was noted in advance that I was a vegan when making the booking and some of the sample menus on their website had previously showed a vegan option. Unfortunately, the actual menus didn’t have any vegan option so I had to ask for one and then it became awkward as they didn’t seem to have anything prepared. Most of the staff were polite and tried to help but I felt awkward and embarrassed as I waited anxiously for them to come up with something whilst they had already brought my girlfriend her starter (non vegan) 15 minutes before they came up with something for me. The whole service was a mess and we felt very uncomfortable. They then brought me TOAST as a starter after my girlfriend had already finished her starter (which was hot so she couldn’t wait). For my main they brought me what I would describe as a side serving of vegetables (that’s possibly what it was). It consisted of 4 bites of broccoli, 4 tiny baby carrots, and a small piece of asparagus, with a tomato and lime dressing. It would have made a lovely starter. The dessert was adequate but too little too late (sorbet with berries) The whole experience was a horrific dining disaster and not even close to a 5 star experience that would be expected after paying so much. I still cannot believe how unorganized they were or how they can actually think it’s ok to give me toast as part of a 3 course meal. My girlfriend thought her food was nice but nothing special. They brought her no potatoes or veg with it and never came to check if everything was ok so I had to call someone. The whole meal was something like you’d see in Fawlty Towers. The breakfast the next day was a lot better in terms of being prepared and making me feel welcome and valued. But there still was no vegan option on the main menu and even the porridge was made with dairy milk and not offered as an option to be made with water. The food provided was quite basic and average for me but I was really happy that there was no drama or long awkward wait. The bar itself is really poor and not what you’d expect in a hotel. There is zero atmosphere or life at night. No music or any attempt to entertain or create a pub atmosphere. It felt like they just wanted us to drink up and leave…. so we did. We also had mid afternoon food in the bar when we first arrived and again, no vegan option. They gave me a cheese option from the menu without the cheese and charged me the same price for a few leaves, some beetroot and one walnut. There is a “gym” but it’s just 4 or 5 cardio machines side by side (elbow to elbow) crammed in a tiny room. It felt like a tick the box effort to claim they have a gym. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and the staff were all lovely but the bar service is shockingly bad. Considering how expensive this hotel is, I will not be returning as it didn’t feel even clos

Amazing holiday experience! Service - location - hospitability - exceptional quality lodging and cuisine - the Cliff House is one of the best experiences we have had in 44 years of marriage. From arrival to departure - absolutely fabulous visit. Highly recommended.
