Copperhill Mountain Lodge

Fabulous stay with lovely food and very friendly staff.

We loved our stay at Copperhill. The space is, of course, beautiful, but, perhaps more notably, very, very comfortable and welcoming. Our room was thoughtfully laid-out, with plenty of room for two kids and two adults and a great view. Very helpful to have so much space for ski gear, too. The hotel was incredibly family friendly, including markers and coloring page for kiddos in the lobby and kid-specific hours in the pool, which was great for our kiddos and us. Delicious breakfast, and wonderful drinks. Very easy to get out skiing with the Skistar rental onsite and the hill right out the door. The location is beautiful, with amazing views (including the Northern Lights!), though note that this means that it is not close/convenient to get to Are town center. If you're hoping to spend a lot of time in town, this might not be for you (or you'll want a car or a lot of taxi rides). We would definitely stay again!

I visited the Copperhill mountain lodge with my family in February this year. We were under the impression that the parking was free. However, it’s only free if you register your vehicle at the hotel’s reception. Unfortunately, the hotel doesn’t tell you this when you arrive and so we received a £60 parking fine when we arrived back in the UK. I contacted the hotel but was told that I should have understood the parking information in the carpark even though it was in Swedish. Given that many of the hotel’s guests don’t speak Swedish, the duty of care to non-Swedish guests leaves a lot to be desired. I won’t be spending my hard earn money there again.

Points positifs : • Chambres et design : confort de la chambre, bien équipée (nous avions une Silver de 50 m2 avec une superbe vue); très agréable • Personnel : La courtoisie et la disponibilité; sourire • Restaurant  : cuisine saine, plats bien préparés et agréablement surpris par les plats typiques suédois Bel espace de jeu pour les enfants et adolescents Points à améliorer  • Services en chambre : l’absence de certaines commodités, telles que des bouteilles d’eau dans les chambres, et un service de bagagerie limité. Absence de service du soir • Petit-déjeuner : les tables ne sont pas dressées et ne sont pas débarrassées rapidement, ce qui peut entraîner une impression de désordre pendant le service. Salle de restaurant principale trop grande et tables trop rapprochées; manque d’intimité • Spa : manque de serviettes propres disponibles, serviettes pas immédiatement enlevées après le départ des clients, pas de hammam, un seul petit jacuzzi pour 112 chambres, et une offre de soins limitée, rendant parfois difficile la réservation de massages • Espace ski : pas de service d’entretien des skis Et absence de concierge; absence de service au bar; chaussures de ski qui devraient être interdites dans l’hotel; absence de chaussons douillets Mériterait de progresser sur ces différents points pour en faire un très beau resort

Overall the hotel is lovely, it has a great ambience, beautiful location and modern facilities. We had the skiers bliss package that we thought was fantastic value with both breakfast and dinner included. We stayed in a steel room with a view out the back of the hotel. The room itself was clean and had the lodge vibe that you would expect. It was spacious for 2 people and we loved how quiet it was. My only minor complaint about the room is the bed- I know it is common for hotels to have single beds, but this was one of the first hotels we stayed at that had not fully joined the beds together (despite us requesting a double room). The restaurant was really relaxing and the food was excellent. Sadly the staff are not aware of the difference between vegetarian and vegan and I had to explain this to different people a number of times. Although this is not something I would usually mind, I contacted the hotel prior to my stay to make sure they could accommodate a vegan diet and they said they could and asked me to make a note of it on the booking. This note made no difference (or was ignored) as I still had to tell staff each night and there was a lot of ‘back and forth’ to the kitchen to work out what they could make me- just took away from the professionalism a little. Surprisingly however, breakfast had lots of choice for vegans and was delicious and clearly labelled. We used the spa each day and loved it! They had rules written about certain times that were ‘adult only’ but these were completely ignored by a number of guests and the staff did not challenge the people who had their children with them. We didn’t mind but if you are specifically looking for a child free spa, you may not find it here! Having the ski rental shop in the hotel was very handy and the fact you can ski straight out the hotel was an added bonus.
