Wingate by Wyndham Augusta/Fort Eisenhower

This was the worst hotel experience I've had in my life. After driving 6 1/2 hours from Virginia to see my ill father, I arrived at this location, and within 5 minutes of checking in and going to the assigned room, I inspected the bed and noticed a bug crawling on the back of the pillow. I immediately rolled the dolly back down to the front desk that still had all my belongings on it and told the front desk staff to cancel my room. I was informed that since I checked in after the cancellation cutoff, I would have to be charged for the stay. The front desk wanted to go to the room and inspect it to see if they saw the bug, and of course, they didn't see a moving bug, like it's not going to stay in one place, it's crawling. The front desk staff member who refused to give me her name said she couldn't print me a cancellation receipt and couldn't refund anything. I said, fine, do whatever, but give me back the copy of my license, and I'll leave. She refused to, so I snatched the copy off the desk since she wouldn't even give me her name. She then threatened to call the Police on me. Long story short, I'll never stay at any Wingate by Wyndham again. To add, the hotel didn't follow their own policy of only charging the customer 1 night's stay if not cancelled before cutoff; they charged me the entire stay. They must need the money.

Updated high quality Recently updated this is a beautiful budget hotel. Fluffy high quality towels and linen; good breakfast; excellent hospitable staff. Only issue - no Kleenex or clock in room.

Absolutely Horrendous – This Hotel Should Be Shut Down Immediately! This so-called “hotel” is nothing more than a hazardous construction site disguised as a place of lodging. It is beyond comprehension how management has the audacity to keep this establishment open while it is in the middle of a full-blown renovation. From 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, guests are bombarded with the deafening sounds of construction—drilling, hammering, and shouting workers—all while trying to relax or sleep. The entire place reeks of toxic paint and dust, making it an outright health hazard. To make matters worse, I was assigned a room on a floor that was completely under construction. The dust coated everything, and the air was thick with fumes that made it nearly impossible to breathe. This is not just an inconvenience; it is a blatant violation of basic safety and health regulations. It is beyond irresponsible—it is dangerous. As if that weren’t bad enough, some of the construction workers actually live in the hotel, treating it like their personal dormitory. They were excessively loud, shouting and making noise until nearly 3:00 AM, ensuring that a good night’s sleep was impossible. Management has clearly abandoned any responsibility for maintaining a decent environment for paying guests. This property should not be operating under any circumstances. It is an active construction zone, a health risk, and a complete nightmare. Authorities should investigate immediately, and until then, I strongly
