Everything was very nasty from the tub to the bed ice machines definitely didn't work couldn't even sleep perfectly

Disgusting. Bed sheets were not changed before we got there so makeup and hair was all over the bedding. The smoke detector was missing and revealed a large hole in the ceiling. Holes everywhere. Bugs everywhere. Wouldn’t touch the shower with a ten foot pole. Room smelled like a smoke bar. Noisy neighbors and crack heads going through the trash cans next to where you park.

Baymont by Wyndham Austin University Area Stay Details: October 16 – 20, 2025 (U.S. Grand Prix weekend) I booked a four-night stay during the U.S. Grand Prix and experienced unacceptable issues from check-in to check-out. Despite reporting them repeatedly, nothing was resolved. Key Issues During Stay: Hazardous Mold: Noticed extensive black mold on the plastic curtain behind the AC unit on the first night. No Maid Service: Our room was never serviced over the entire four-night stay. Lack of Essentials: I had to visit the front desk four different times just to get towels. Non-Functioning Amenities: The Wi-Fi was out for most of the stay, and the ice maker was intentionally turned off and never fixed. Management and Follow-Up Failures: I spoke to at least four different employees about the mold, service, and amenities. Every time, I was told only the manager, Shane Patel, could help. I was unable to speak to Shane Patel over the entire weekend, as he was "not in." I checked out and was promised Shane would call me in 1-2 days. When I finally called back a week later, I spoke to an employee named "Julli T." who admitted Shane no longer worked there (and hadn't for a month). "Julli T." refused to issue any refund, claiming the lack of service was "standard." Resolution: I was forced to dispute the entire charge with my credit card provider. I highly recommend avoiding this hotel. The combination of health hazards (mold), total lack of service, and deceptive, unavailable management is appalling. I have pictures of the mold ready for posting.

If I could give it minus 5 stars I would. We stayed at this hotel for five nights. We chose it due to the proximity of the location we needed to see. Upon check in the guy at the counter was talking on the phone while checking us in. Almost no eye contact or communication with him. He only issued 1 key. Many hotels that I stayed by myself I received 2 keys. During the stay there were 3 mornings that they did not have breakfast. The first morning the guy behind the counter flat out lied and saying the company that provides the breakfast has not arrived yet (7:30 am). I inquired about that and was told that they did not have supplies to offer breakfast. The website clearly shows free breakfast and this was one of the other reasons for selecting this hotel. The other major issue was a gross violation of security and privacy. After returning to the hotel room we found the room door wide open. When we entered we found 2 maintenance guys replacing the shower valve. Why was that not done prior to assigning the room. Secondly, if we would have left our stuff in the room anyone could have come in and taken our stuff. The hotel location and some of the tenants are on questionable nature. This brings me to my next point. During night hours we heard various arguments with other tenants (male/female), potentially long-term stay people, that makes me reconsider my safety if I had to leave my room for any reason.

I would not recommend staying here. The area was very sketchy and the facilities were very worn down, the room I stayed in had various issues including: broken mirror, dirty socks from previous tenant, stains on the sheets and pillows, amongst other cosmetic faults. The staff members were nice, however you get what you pay for.

The staff is the worst. Rude, unprofessional and disrespectful. Don’t come here even if you get a room for free
