Reserved a room for a couple nights. Beautiful pool view room, #214! Clean, quiet, friendly staff…great location!! Beachfront, nearby restaurants!

We have come to Icona Avalon twice in as many years and enjoy the property. You cannot beat the location, the beach is great here, and the facilities are very good. The beach setup service and the Sand Bar restaurant are a major plus, and very convenient. We stayed in the East Building (closer to the Ocean), on the north side facing the Ocean. Connecting rooms were guaranteed via phone and delivered with no issues. We had an issue this visit related to another guest smoking in his room and the hallway, causing cigar smoke to waft into our room. Supervisory personnel at the front desk were helpful, they intervened, and the situation was resolved. Follow-up from hotel staff on the matter was very good. The onsite brewpub restaurant is "okay" for dinner; very good for breakfast. Breakfast meals in particular were consistent and enjoyed by all. Try the California Breakfast Wrap. The Avalon Prime steakhouse at Windrift across the street was very good, we really enjoyed it. We also recommend trying other restaurants around the area and not confining yourself to the hotel. Try Borghi's by Bay, just a couple blocks away. Bear in mind this is largely, but not totally, a BYOB town. We will return to Icona in the future. Holding back the fifth star is the pricing compared to the overall value. Pricing hovers just around a couple hundred dollars per night above what this Property should really command.

The room was very clean. The staff was awesome and very welcoming. LOVED the pool and sandbar. We were there for a wedding and you guys hit it out of the park. Pasquale ( at the lobby bar) topped the stay off with his personality and kindness right before we left fantastic all around. My wife and myself are planning a long weekend back there this time next year.

Pasquale - wanted to give a shout out to our coffee barista at the Avalon Icona, Pasquale! He was very attentive to our needs, was super friendly and helpful! Thanks, for making our morning a little nicer, Pasquale. The front desk at the Icona should take notes from him to be a little kinder to guests.

The Icona in Avalon was a dream come true. The lobby and rooms are beautifully appointed, wonderfully comfortable and wholly inviting. The Icona attracts a vibrant, friendly clientele. The Pub food is great and beaches clean, but one of the best features of the hotel is the Starbucks coffee bar attendant - Pasquale - he's amazing. In part a one-man comedian, part counselor; he is genuinely interested in people and it shows. He is a part of so many lives over the 5 years he's been there. He has history, an amazing memory and keeps the lobby lively and high-spirited. Great beaches, great biking, great eating and great shopping in Stone Harbor. Thank you to all for a fabulous get-away.

Beautiful hotel, very clean rooms. Pasquale at the coffee bar is so kind and friendly! My Dad even met the owner who was very nice. We will be back again.
