Icona Windrift

This place is AWFUL and I would not recommend anyone to go. Poorly ran business with terrible food and drinks. The restaurant and management staff are also terrible and need to be fired, especially Tusa.

We stay every summer for years. Always enjoy the piano bar, choices of bars/food, beach, proximity to stone harbor shops. This time, it was short staffed. Very hard to get drinks or food (or napkins, ketchup after food delivered) by pool. It was each day, and it wasn’t that crowded. They change the burgers from previous years and they are more like snack bar burgers. We were excited about the new steakhouse, Avalon prime, because Windrift always had great food & drink, but the service was subpar and food was just OK. It was a birthday celebration, and the steak was overcooked significantly . We will not go back to Avalon prime. Breakfast was not available 2-3 days, so we had to eat at Avalon brew pub, which is always painfully slow service. Re: rooms: Everyone knows the rooms are overpriced because of the location, and we’ve accepted that, but a view of the parking lot & air conditioner above dripping so much water onto our deck, tiny bathroom with a broken door lock - wouldn’t stay closed, slid open significantly so no privacy. We’ve loved coming here, but disenchanted with this visit and plan to explore on other properties. We’ve stayed at Icona Avalon, Icona Diamond beach many times as well.

My husband and I had the most wonderful stay at Icona Windrift! The manager, Jeff, and the front desk staff were so friendly and welcoming and efficient! The room was clean, well appointed and the bed so comfortable! Lounge chair and umbrella service on the beach was excellent. We had dinner at their new Avalon Prime Steakhouse and that too was exceptional from service to atmosphere to food!! Thank you Icona Windrift, can't wait to come back!!!

Great location, great staff, great time! My girlfriend and I came from Jersey City for a wedding in Stone Harbor over the weekend. Everyone was so accommodating and kind. I especially appreciate the communication to make sure I was able to access one of their complimentary EV chargers, which helped make the drive back to Jersey City that much easier. Multiple times on the trip my girlfriend and I mentioned how the place felt like a tropical resort in New Jersey. Shout out to all of the staff, and especially Lisa, Teresa, and Vuk! Thank you !

Found this location a good combination of beach, pool, restaurants, dancing and within walking distance to Stone Harbor’s Main Street of shops. Very clean with amenities in room. Small refrigerator was present in room. Helpful staff and pool towels as needed.
