Olympic Lagoon Resort Ayia Napa

Lovely hotel with amazing staff. Everything at this hotel deserves its 5 stars. My only gripe about this hotel is the same as all other recent comments. The pool rules are ridiculous and hold no common sense. I witnessed myself: - Someone being asked to tell their 3 year old to stop laughing as they are annoying other guests resting (this was the family pool). - A baby in a small seated float holding a small ball was told the ball was not allowed in the pool (he wasn’t even throwing it just holding in his float). - I was walking across the pool holding a small rubber ring (that was then allowed) to take to the other side of the pool while my daughter swam next to me and was told no adult is to hold a float in the pool (I was just carrying it for my daughter). - You can only throw a ball if you are a child (I think this may have changed but was the case when I was there and told by multiple life guards). I fully understand safety measures and inflatables can be so ridiculous and unsafe however all the things I have listed above are not unsafe in anyway and we’re only the things I witnessed myself - there were so many others, it did make a lot of their paying guests feel unwelcome. You can drink alcohol in their pools but can’t through a ball to your child. I really hope this hotel does the right thing and uses its common sense on their pool rules as I feel they will be met with alot of families no longer wanting to book this beautiful place that they clearly worked so hard to have right in so many other ways. I believe there has been a couple of organised games in the pool the last couple of days - I suppose that is something the kids can do (but I wonder how the relaxing customers feel if a 3 years old laughing was causing so much stress). Picture contains 3 floats that were bought from their shop and told by all I was allowed on day 1. Could not use them after day 3 - no refund or apology.

The rooms are excellent, very comfy beds and pillows, blackout curtains and most days our mini bar was restocked. We did have to ask twice. The pools are excellent, although it is insane that you cannot play catch with a small ball, toddlers can’t jump off the side to parents catching them, no inflatables. If your children are over 5 I probably wouldn’t go. It’s really an adults only hotel with a pirate ship pool for toddlers. My son is 16 and if it wasn’t for being a big group of us he would have been very bored. The food and service is excellent, the staff can’t do enough for you and a big shoutout to Steve the barman who always goes out his way to make you have a good time! The allocated sunbeds are a dream, such a great system. I would definitely come again but I wouldn’t bring a teenager.

Great hotel, staff and food is great. Wana give a massive shout out to Steve the barman, he has made mine and my family’s holiday even better . He’s not just a barman he’s a ture entertainer , we will miss going to see him .

As good as it gets. 5 star is definitely 5 star. Sun bed allocation system is a god send. Food amazing. Entertainment amazing. Whole holiday amazing.

The room was beautiful, they were cleaned every day and we received dry clean towels, sheets and pool towels every day too. The staff were lovely and very helpful and polite, nothing was a problem. The restaurants and bars were great and the food on the whole was great. They have one restaurant that serves fish and chips, and it’s lovely. There are a lot of things to do in the hotel but also if you want a change there are trips outside which are well run and very enjoyable. On the whole, I have travelled the world and this resort was definitely one of the best 👍

The hotel and staff itself are lovely . When we arrived we were given a room that faced the motorway which we were not happy with they did change it but after 2 days . The pros Staff really helpful Food varied Allocated sunbeds brilliant You are a little bit out of Ayai Napa But there are buses that run really regularso can go out to different places really cheap. They are always really busy but there are plenty of them . Entertainment is a bit hit and miss . Considering we’re out of the way a bit it needs to be better. There was a Freddie Mercury tribute and he was fantastic. The Cons This is a wedding hotel and caters for lots of weddings They have an adults Pool with a swim bar which is really lovely right next to the lazy river which again is really lovely. However, when you get groups of people generally the men gathering at the pool and get louder and louder and unfortunately more lairy and clearly have no idea that there’s people around them, it was unpleasant . If you want a nice relaxing holiday, In the adults only but I don’t think this is really the place. This is definitely for more the wedding groups and the larger groups. We wouldn’t return
