Hôtel Grand Monarque

What a great hotel! We were warmly greeted at arrival and shown around the property by a charming woman at reception. She was totally at ease with our dirty bicycles (they have secure indoor bicycle storage) and our slightly wet saddle bags (from a rain shower on the way into town.) Our room (second floor in an adjoining building) was enormous, beautifully decorated (it felt like we were staying a palace), with a fully modernized bathroom, high windows overlooking the courtyard, and excellent a/c. The hotel is in the heart of the historic center of Azay-le-Rideau, which was one of our favorite towns on the trip, and steps from the fabulous chateaux. We can't recommend this place enough!

We stayed at Le Grand Monarque, Azay-le-Rideau for 3 nights. Everything was great: central location, large room, very quiet and they have a parking location near by. All staff at the reception was wonderful but I would like to give our special thanks to Isabelle. She was above and beyond making recommendations, booking restaurants, suggesting stores and point if interests. Thank you, Isabelle for your fantastic job!

Magnifique hotel. Super accueil, très belle chambre et lit super confortable ! Petit déjeuner très bon et excellent location! Je recommande, vraiment ! Azay-le-Rideau est charmant et un excellent base pour visiter la région et les châteaux !
