Hotel & Terme Bagni di Lucca

This was the first time ever (in 20+ years travelling) that I refused to stay at hotel. The hotel is shabby, tired and in need of refurbishment. We booked this hotel because it had a beautiful location and advertised a spa facility. We arrived and we’re told that there was no spa only a pool. We were given room 209, which was allegedly a superior room, this had tiny balcony, faced a brick wall and had no outdoor furniture. We immediately complained and asked to be moved to another room. No apologies from the lady on reception only telling us ‘we had not paid for a better room’. We were shown room 311 which is a suite with terrace but were told that we could only move for an additional €150 for two nights. This room looked better on first impression and we agreed to move. Once we moved our luggage, we discovered the room was not clean and had dead wood lice on the floor, stained bedcovers, stained sink, filthy terrace and a dirty fridge. At this point we decide to leave. We showed the lady at reception the photos we had taken but she really didn’t care and made no effort to apologise or put right the problems.

Rather sad and poorly run I was very disappointed by the hotel. The best part was the warm water in the pool. It is very poor value. Specifically, the room was noisy from a water filtration system overhead. I complained and the noise was stopped but so was all the water to my room. Fortunately, I’d already showered, but still had no water for sink or toilet until after breakfast. Talking of which, that consisted of three seriously under-baked croissants and a glass of orange juice. Extremely poor choice of food. No food was available in the evening and the hotel is at the top of a steep hill at least 25 minutes walk away from another place to eat. Sadly, the owners seem to have given up on trying to run the place professionally. Other places nearby are closed. Best feature was the view of the valley. This hotel was easily the worst value of my trip.

Peaceful and warm stay in Bagni di Lucca Italy! Lovely hotel with excellent service. Elena who greeted us upon arrival was absolutely lovely and professional, friendly and welcome! She greeted us warmly upon arrival and facilitated a smooth check in. She ensured that breakfast was to our liking and was most informative and helpful throughout the stay. The property is very quiet and peaceful.

Sono stata per una notte in questo hotel piuttosto datato, camera vecchia trascurata e mancanza assoluta di igiene. Ho trovato polvere accumulata sulla testiera del letto e sui comodini, mobili rotti insetti morti appiccicati ovunque, ragnatele, prese e telecomando appiccicosi e sporchi, tenda macchiato di sangue e bucata (come dimostrano le foto). Finestra e davanzale sporchissimi dentro e fuori, copri letto macchiato. Si presenta come un 3 stelle ma non lo è affatto. La struttura è gestita dal proprietario arrogante, scortese e non professionale. Il peggior hotel in cui abbia mai alloggiato in Italia. Non mi sento assolutamente di consigliarlo. Ovviamente è stato fatto presente tutto questo subito alla reception, ma l’hotel era al competo e quindi non è stato possibile effettuare un cambio di stanza. La premessa è stata quella di avere poi uno sconto visto che il prezzo per tutto ciò sarebbe stato di 140€ che ovviamente il giorno seguente nel momento in cui ho pagato si è rilevato di poco. Soprattutto il modo in cui il proprietario mi ha additato proprio non mi è andato giù. Viaggio in giro per il mondo da sempre e nessuno può permettersi di dirmi le cose che sono state dette dal proprietario, davanti a fatti evidenti come le foto che riporto di seguito.

Ho avuto il piacere di soggiornare all'Hotel & Terme di Bagni di Lucca, ed è stata un'esperienza indimenticabile. Questo hotel, situato in una location incantevole e immerso nella natura toscana, offre un mix perfetto di relax, comfort e benessere. Le terme sono assolutamente meravigliose: l'acqua termale, nota per le sue proprietà terapeutiche, mi ha lasciato una sensazione di profondo rilassamento. Ho provato diversi trattamenti termali e sono rimasto particolarmente impressionato dalla professionalità del personale, sempre attento e disponibile. Le camere dell'hotel sono accoglienti e ben curate, con una vista mozzafiato sulle colline circostanti. Mi sono svegliato ogni mattina con il cinguettio degli uccelli e l'aria fresca e pulita che entrava dalla finestra, un vero toccasana per l'anima. La cucina è un altro punto forte di questo hotel: i piatti sono preparati con ingredienti freschi e locali, e ogni pasto è un viaggio nei sapori autentici della Toscana. La colazione, ricca e variegata, è stata il modo perfetto per iniziare la giornata. Infine, l'ospitalità del personale merita una menzione speciale. Tutti sono stati estremamente cordiali e pronti a soddisfare ogni mia esigenza, facendomi sentire davvero a casa. Consiglio vivamente l'Hotel & Terme di Bagni di Lucca a chiunque cerchi una pausa rilassante, lontano dal caos della vita quotidiana. È il luogo ideale per rigenerarsi e godersi un po' di tranquillità in un ambiente naturale unico.

After experiencing the indoor pool for a short period of time I started to feel breathless and the heat became unbearable I had no option but to leave. 4 days after returning home I was hospitalised with a respiratory infection and I am still currently taking antibiotics for the problem. Any body else reading this had a similar experience.
