Drake Bay Greenleaf

We have had a wonderful experience at Greenleaf! We had 2 ocean view rooms. The rooms are big and comfortable, every detail has been thought of, a beautiful bathroom, great beds etc. It is one of the most beautiful small scale boutique hotels we ever did! The owner Helen is so kind and attentive, up to every detail, which makes the stay so wonderful! The breakfast and diner were exquisite and the location of the hotel is great up the hill, with a great view on Drake bay and every day you see lots of birds, the mankeys and chi chi the tapir which are part of the family! The complementary Sirena and snorkelling tours in the pack are definitely worth it! This was a repeat for us - the first time was December and this one we had meaning to repeat because the first was such a unique and wonderful experience. Helen, Steven and their little son Vincent are truly exceptional hosts. Very warm, loving with lots of personalized care for each of their guests. The wildlife is incredible even at the lodge, the food is excellent. And the guides they work with are experts, passionate about the flora and fauna of Osa. Gustavo is an outstanding wildlife guide, as is Wilson the scuba dive master.

The six of us were on a girl's trip and had all three available bungalows for a week. Each bungalow had a king and queen sized bed... extremely comfortable accommodations and it was a great place to escape the heat, humidity and rain. No surprise... it rains a lot here. In addition to the bungalows, there was a building with the kitchen and a common place for taking meals and relaxing (with an incredible view like each bungalow). We thoroughly enjoyed sitting and seeing a large variety of wildlife up close... including the tapirs LuLu and ChiChi who visited us in the evenings. I can't say enough about Hellen (and her husband, Steven) who accommodated the six of us with varying dietary preferences and restrictions. All meals were included and the food was incredible! She made sure the chefs took the BEST care of us. She also took care of our laundry and my hiking shoes looked like new when I departed. I highly recommend the offered tours... all were excellent (thanks Gustavo!) and the massage given by Anna (three of us had two). It is a 10 minute walk to the beach (downhill to the beach and uphill heading back).
