Balthali Village Resort

The service and food is next to none. Very attentive. I ate very well here. It was a stop over on a cycling trip and a very welcome stay. Views over the surrounding area. Comfortable room too! I would actually tailor a programme to stay here again. Arrive hungry and feast on local food at its best.

The warm and welcoming staff at Balthali Village Resort offered an excellent, intimate experience to become acquainted with Nepalese culture. We cherished the opportunity to speak candidly to learn about some unique fruit trees, had a delicious Nepalese dinner and were invited to visit a staff member’s nearby village of Dadagaun to observe daily life. Our guide recommended walking over two narrow suspension bridges, passing through forests, across rivers, past animals and farmland on our way to the Balthali Village Resort. We were grateful to have been picked up by their jeep for the steep remaining road up to the mountaintop location and breathtaking views!

Fishy Place for me. Oily food for my son caused ache in stomach. Rooms are good, Location is good but what matters for me most is the service and I hate showoffs. The desert was totally bad. I came to review in trip advisers and found mostly good reviews from foreigners. But from my experience, observe everything what they really do.

It is in a beautiful setting with lovely views of the nearby villages and fields, and the Himalayan mountains in the distance. The food was good and the staff were all wonderful. Strongly recommended.

Wir hatten einen tollen 3-tägigen Aufenthalt hier. Da der Jeep nicht zur Verfügung stand, hatten wir schon eine abenteuerliche Fußanreise durch den Wald - ein toller Start. Mit dem Mitarbeiter Nabin hatten wir schöne Spaziergänge und Erlebnisse, haben seine Familie kennengelernt und durften an der Tikka-Zeremonie teilnehmen. VIELEN DANK - NABIN! Die Zimmer sind sauber und geräumig, das Wasser heiß. Besonders genossen haben wir die Abende an der Feuerstelle im Haupthaus mit heißem Rum mit Honig. Das Essen war sehr lecker und reichhaltig.

We took a taxi from Kathmandu and arrived in about hour and half. Taxi took us to the some point from where we had to walk for about seven minutes to the resort. We could have taken a 4wheel drive all the way to resort parking lot but little taxi could not do it. But we were happy to hike for seven minutes. Hiking trail was not marked and had to use our common sense to figure out the way. Once there ,views were great and place looked peaceful. Very artistic and down to earth place. Simple Nepali food in buffet style was fresh and delicious. I was surprise to find a nice bottle of merlot in the menu. Staffs were attentive. Next morning breakfast was served at eight and then we decided to go for couple hours hike to the huge Trishul, - trident - weapon of Lord Shiva at the bottom of the mountain. It was a good hike and passing through the local village and having a cup of tea was a nice break. All together it turned a three hours hike and when back we were ready for a lunch. Rest of the day we just chilled out. Next morning we decided to hike to the local Tamang village and it was fun walking through people's front yard where almost every house had few goats and chickens running around. Place was clean and I would give three star for the facility. I wanted to see if this place is good for longer stay to do some work through internet. But wifi was not good enough to do so. However, I would definitely go back just to relax and do nothing. May be I will be lucky having better internet next time. Thank you for the great hospitality.
