"We booked 2 sea-view rooms, but if you’re staying on the lower floors, you’ll mostly see the rooftops instead of the sea. I also wouldn’t recommend visiting during this month/season because of the low tide. I feel like it would be better to visit during summer when the water is clearer and the beach is more enjoyable. The staff were very welcoming, and they even provided welcome drinks! The service was exceptional, the Wi-Fi in the rooms worked well, and the AC was nice and cold. The building also looks new and well-maintained. The only concern was the check-in process—it took quite a while, and we waited for about an hour before we could check in. However, they were kind enough to offer us a late check-out to make up for the waiting time, which we really appreciated. Breakfast buffet is 5 stars! All in all, we had a good experience. I’d definitely consider coming back, this time with my husband! ❤️"

"The room was very clean. We arrived early and the hotel kindly arranged an available room for us to rest in. It's about a five to six-minute walk to the beach, cutting through the Hannah resort in front. The hotel's Alona beach area is also very clean, located at one end of the beach. It's considered a more upscale resort on Boracay."

"The rooms have a slight old-fashioned charm, but they're very well-maintained and comfortable to stay in. The hotel's buffet isn't as bad as some people on Xiaohongshu say; it's about 900 baht per person without drinks, which you order separately. (On a side note, whether it's the pool bar, restaurant, lobby bar, or the sand restaurant, they all use the same drink menu with identical prices). The Kai Spa in the hotel is a bit pricey; a standard single treatment will easily cost you upwards of 300-500 baht, but the environment, I must say, is truly excellent. The hotel staff are all very professional and have a good attitude. Check-in time isn't strictly enforced; it seems arriving a bit early is fine. The outdoor pool behind the lobby, while open-air, is quite clean. It's rarely used at night, mainly by families with children during the day. It closes at 9 PM, so after dark, it's pretty much empty. The beach pool is open until midnight; the one by the beach is for all ages, while the one near Christina's is adult-oriented. Overall, for an average price of around 1200 baht per night during holidays, the experience is generally worth it. A similar hotel in the same location, like Tawaravadee, might not offer the same value for money. If you can stay for an average of less than 750 baht during off-peak seasons, it's an incredibly good deal. Also, this hotel has a lot, a lot, a lot of Koreans, almost all of whom are on family vacations. You can walk directly from the hotel to the beach, and along the beach, there are shops and businesses. Most of the beach restaurants recommended on 'that app' are in this area. The one with fire dancing is Osias, and it's cheap and offers large portions. Upon check-in, the hotel, including the information sheet, states that breakfast starts at 6 AM. However, breakfast is actually available from 5:30 AM, with some simple bread, food, and drinks. The hotel does not offer 'breakfast to go'. If you need to catch an early island hopping tour, just go down early to eat, and you'll have no problem filling up."

"The B&B's environment and exterior are truly beautiful, no complaints there. At first glance, the room looked great too. However, you can't look too closely – there are ants and mosquitoes everywhere. If you're a light sleeper, definitely don't stay here. The curtains are white fabric, so it's bright by 5 AM, which was truly painful. Plus, the neighbor's chickens start crowing at 5 AM. Don't be fooled by the pictures."

"The hotel room was beautifully designed and the bed was super comfortable. The bathroom area was spacious and I liked that the toilet was in a separate space. We had breakfast and lunch at Restaurant Uma, and both the food and service there were good. The irony is that this is the only place where we received good service at the hotel. From check-in, my name was repeatedly addressed incorrectly as 'Mr' instead of 'Ms', both verbally by staff and in emails and greetjng cards. Despite pointing this out to the manager on Day 2, I was still addressed as 'Mr' during check out on Day 3. This was very annoying and showed a lack of attention to detail. We also noticed that some guests were served welcome drinks while others were not, which appeared quite selective. Our room was also missing the beach bag, although the staff sent one over immediately after I pointed this out. What truly disappointed us was that on Day 1, when we returned to our room after dinner, we found that our room door had been left open by the turndown service staff. All our valuables and travel documents were inside the room. The hotel checked the CCTV and insisted that this was an “isolated case.” However, we have still not received any written incident report or follow-up email regarding what happened. Leaving a guest room unsecured after turndown service is a serious operational failure. When we raised the issue with the manager, the hotel offered complimentary spa treatments and a bottle of wine as a gesture of goodwill. However, it was offered too late and we did not have time to use the spa, and we could not drink the wine. Given the seriousness of the incident, these gestures felt rather disconnected from the actual issue and did little to address our concerns. What we would have expected was a proper explanation, written follow-up and a meaningful response to the security lapse. In addition, we booked a direct pool access room specifically to enjoy the convenience and privacy of having our own pool. However, during the day, I noticed that a staff member repeatedly entered our semi-private pool area for different tasks, including picking up leaves and flowers, testing the water quality and cleaning the pool. We had virtually no privacy while we were in the room, as he kept returning to carry out these tasks. In the end, I had to ask him to leave when he appeared for the 4th time! This is a beautiful resort, but the service is severly lacking. Unfortunately, the overall experience was definitely not up to the standards I would expect from an Accor property."

"Pretty good, very clean. Everything about the place really highlights that vacation feel. The forest is so peaceful, with only the sounds of birds. From the room, you can only hear the playful splashing from the pool, and at the beach, just the waves. The only downside is that the bathroom makes some noise, probably the sound of water."

"Beautiful hotel and perfect location for Ironman! 🏊♀️🚴♀️🏃♀️ We stayed at Modala during the Ironman race, and it was a great choice. The hotel is beautiful, with spacious and comfortable rooms, and the location was very convenient for the event area. One thing we really enjoyed was having a small mall right next to the hotel, with around 5–6 restaurants to choose from, so there were plenty of options without having to travel far. However, in my opinion, the hotel’s own restaurant was actually the best! The food was delicious, and it was so convenient to have a good dining option right downstairs. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider staying at Modala again, especially for future events in the area. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

"The room was spacious and clean, and opening the door led straight to the beach with many beautiful coconut trees. Refillable water was a nice touch, and the service was excellent with friendly, smiling staff. The SPA was very affordable. Smoking wasn't allowed in the room or right outside it; in fact, the entire hotel is smoke-free, with smoking permitted only in a small designated area."
