I would not recommend staying at this hotel. The hotel had visible signs of water damage, possibly from flooding, resulting in mold and a scent of mold in the air. Further the carpeting in the room constantly felt wet, no matter the time of day and the wallpaper was peeling off. The water in the hotel had an odd taste as well. While the hotel is well located, it’s in the Gothic Quarter, currently there’s heavy construction out front of the hotel, resulting in frequent traffic.

Bare bones room was very small and looked nothing like the photos, There was no furniture other than the bed; no chair, no table , nothing. The only windows had opaque glass opening onto an air shaft. The flooring was a plastic version of sisal and there was nothing on the walls. No coffee pot, or any creature comforts. We selected an interior room to avoid the street noise, thinking that the rooms faced a courtyard or something similar. The room was so dark at night you could develop film in there and while it should have been quiet, the bells of the nearby cathedral rang loudly at regular intervals all night long. Expected a lot more for over $200 a night. Glad it was only one night!

Extremely mouldy shower and bathroom floor. Hairs in the shower before we’d used it. Dirty, dusty, wall paper coming off wall. Huge roadworks and construction outside and given no warning of this. Outwith Moods control which we understand but disappointing when paying more for an outer room with balcony.

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo ostello, prenotando una camera esterna, sia per la vista sia perché sembrava essere molto confortevole. Invero la camera era molto piccola e separata da un separé da un bagno minuscolo e affacciava su una via anonima. Abbiamo apprezzato il cambio giornaliero della biancheria da bagno, il fatto che ci fossero a disposizione acqua, tisane e caffè e la posizione: veramente centrale e comoda. Da migliorare la manutenzione delle camere (la porta del nostro bagno non aveva la maniglia). Ci ha deluso: la dimensione della camera e il fatto che l'arredamento è così essenziale che non avevamo il posto dove sistemare le nostre cose. Da scegliere per la posizione strategica.

The fotos showed a large and light room with balcony doors. 5 fotos all inside this same room and the message only one room available. Thus you can ONLY think that this must be the room. Also looking at the alternatives in the same price level you can only believe that this room must just as good as the fotos show. Instead we got a small, dark room with small inside windows and almost no air like being locked in a celler. I stress: There NO fotos of this room on the side at all when we booked and payed. They had all their excuses ready but also that ready that they leave no doubt that this is a business model of theirs - and not by mistake. They are deliberately using fake fotos of a nice room to sell a lousy totally overpriced room. Given a fair choice we would never ever even think about spending our holiday in the room they gave us. Not even for free. In case anyone would like to book this room with open eyes it is obviously nowhere near a 160 euro room. However, they refused to give us the room on the fotos we booked or give us money back. We were trapped. Another thing about the Moods: some services are so self evident that they do not even have a category to mention it. Thus, when missing more important than most other categories of services. 1. Hot water: We couldn’t get hot water for a shower for two days. We asked them two times for help without any action for days. 2. Telephone coverage: you can’t make or recieve tel. calls in this hotel. You must go 3 floors down and out on the street. This obviously means that people who needs to reachable by family, friends or work can not stay in this hotel. This MUST obviously be informed before you book the room. 3. Electricity: There was a power failure every day at the hotel. Having heartly no light or air from the little window in the room you are left in the dark and with the aircon off the gets hot fast, so you must leave what you are doing and get out of the hotel like a fire drill every day. 4. Fair chance to Sleep: For whatever the reason the very big and sensitive switch for the light are placed inside the bed in a way that if you make a move sleeping and touch them, the very sharp light goes on. Thus, we woke up 3-5 times every night blinded by the light.
