We recently stayed for three nights at Hostal Lima and were pleasantly surprised, especially considering the abundance of negative reviews. While the older man at the reception came across as a bit grumpy, the teenager was friendly and helpful. The room size was adequate, but changing and getting in and out of the shower was a bit awkward due to the small bathroom. We also noticed black mold between the tiles in the shower. There was no fridge in the room, but we were able to use a communal fridge. The air conditioning worked well. We even had to turn it off in the night because it got too cold. The walls are a bit thin, so we occasionally heard people talking in the hallway, though not from inside their rooms. The only sound coming from the adjacent room was of the shower. In the evening it was quiet. The location of Hostal Lima is excellent, just a 2-minute walk from Plaça de Catalunya and La Rambla. Located next to the Urquinaona metro station, most tourist destinations are at most ten minutes away. I don't think the other reviewers kept in mind this relatively low price for a (budget) accommodation in central Barcelona, since the price quality ratio is good.

Excellent location very close to the centre, public transport and La Rambla. Clean rooms with en-suite bathroom. Very kind staff. Room with all comforts, excellent value for money. Only weak point...a little noisy given the location but very bearable.

A pochi passi da Plaza Catalunya e dalla Rambla, fermata di bus e metro davvero vicinissime. Zona ben servita da negozi, supermercati e bar. Al nostro arrivo, abbiamo trovato tre gradite bottigliette d’acqua di benvenuto. Nulla da eccepire alla pulizia degli ambienti, al bagno, agli asciugamani e lenzuola. Tuttavia l’impressione non è delle migliori, sia all’inizio che durante. Questo hostal è davvero vecchissimo, con barboni fissi davanti al portone. Si fa una rampa piccola di scale antiche a piedi e poi l’ascensore fino al secondo piano. Camere minuscole, materassi vecchi, piccoli e scomodi, bagno minuscolo, vecchissimo, con solo un flacone di sapone liquido, pareti sottilissime, si sentono gli altri ospiti vicini. Odore di vecchio ovunque. Se state per una notte e state poco in camera… allora ok. Ma Comunque non ho visto nemmeno tutta questa convenienza, Barcellona è davvero carissima. Altra nota positiva: c’erano delle convenzioni su parcheggi privati non proprio vicini ma ben collegati. Chiedete il voucher alla reception, costerà 12€ al giorno!

La camera era fatiscente, molto sporca e non veniva pulita tutti i giorni (infatti abbiamo dovuto lasciare un biglietto alla reception chiedendo di cambiarci gli asciugamani e di rifare il letto). Il bagno era minuscolo e dotato solo di un sapone liquido per le mani. Abbiamo trovato un verme nella doccia e un altro nell'armadio. Il pavimento era piú sporco delle piazze di Barcellona (per intenderci). La cosa peggiore è booking in quanto offre questa struttura ai propri utenti ed una volta segnalata la cosa ci hanno offerto un rimborso di 25 euro (ci hanno elemosinato visto che la camera è costata 330 euro), questa è stata la cosa peggiore in quanto non ci siamo sentiti per niente tutelati ed ho seri dubbi che continueró a prenotare tramite booking.
