Serengeti Sopa Lodge

Als je reviews selecteert op Nederlandse taal, zie je alleen oude reviews. Dat geeft een compleet verkeerd beeld van dit hotel! Die reviews zijn gebaseerd op het oude hotel dat hier zat, de Sopa Lodge. Daarna heeft dit hotel een complete verbouwing doorgemaakt en het heet nu Serengeti Explorer by Elewana. Het gemiddelde qua reviews wordt sterk omlaag gehaald door dit vorige hotel. Het nieuwe hotel is december 2024 opengegaan en is echt FANTASTISCH! Van begin tot eind. Wij zijn er met ons gezin van zes in totaal vier nachten geweest. De bedden zijn heel goed, de kamers sfeervol, het eten geweldig (ook het Boma restaurant buiten), Jenipher (die ons dagelijks bediende) was echt zo ontzettend aardig, de bar is super gezellig, het uitzicht magnifiek, Stella van de kidsclub straalt uit dat ze van kinderen houdt en zij is samen met Geof, de artist van het hotel, uren met onze meiden bezig geweest met mooie tekeningen (oliepastelkrijt), de bios is een hele fijne toevoeging, net als het waterhole, dat je via een ondergrondse tunnel bereikt en waar je dieren van heel dichtbij kunt zien... en zo kan ik nog wel even doorgaan! Werkelijk alles is tot in de puntjes geregeld, alle mensen zijn ontzettend lief en aardig en elk hoekje van dit nieuwe hotel kent een mooi design. Als je hier komt, is 1 of 2 nachten echt te weinig! Je wilt niet alleen die geweldige Serengeti ervaren, maar ook van dit hotel kunnen genieten tussendoor! Dankjewel Serengeti Explorer, voor ons geweldige verblijf bij jullie! Jullie gemiddelde hoort 5 sterren te zijn!

L'hôtel est flambant neuf et il faut dire que tout est magnifique. Dès que l'on arrive, on remarque la décoration moderne et soignée, la propreté, la vue spectaculaire de la savane... Il y a même avec des animaux tout près le matin, que l'on peut voir en même temps qu'on suit un cours de yoga gratuit au lever du soleil. Le buffet était de qualité et varié, aussi bien pour le petit déjeuner que le soir. Les repas sans buffet à volonté étaient aussi délicieux. Le personnel est très attentionné, discret et poli. Nous avions deux chambres communicantes, très pratiques pour voyager en famille avec des adolescents. Les deux étaient étaient très spacieuses, stylées et confortables, avec toute sorte de petits détails (thés, biscuits...). Le service de blanchisserie était inclus dans notre formule. Bref, tout était magnifique et nous avons adoré. La question légitime reste: a-t-on besoin d'une telle structure en plein milieu de la savane?

Amazingly beautiful newly renovated hotel with gorgeous views. The staff was very welcoming and friendly . Delicious meals offering a wide variety on their fresh buffet daily. We were lucky to enjoy a Boma night filled with amazing food and dancing . Property was gorgeous with lots of places to relax and enjoy the view. One evening we came back to a Mama and baby baboon on our balcony! We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely go back.

Our travel agent Easy Travel booked this hotel for us. From the time we arrived, everything was perfect. The service, the restaurant, the rooms. The Hide (where you can watch the animals drinking at the waterhole) was simply amazing. We saw two buffalos up close drinking - the experience was unreal. The food was also great. I would stay here again!

Only opened in Dec after extension renovation ( previously known as Serengeti Sopa ), this 75 room lodge is nothing short of words . A perfectly modern designed place , a true gem in central Serengeti . It is approx 1.15 hr from senonera airstrip . Enroute to lodge saw great game . It has main dining , pool bar and restaurant , bar lounge , spa , shop , large pool, gym , boma dining , complimemtary guided talk, explorer birding tour , explorer star gazing , silent outdoor cinema , wildlife photographic hide , photographic studios . It had golf buggies incase you need . Chef Abbas produced some amazing dishes . Want to try chef’s table with wine pairing , which is available at extra cost . Outdoor fireplace for evening sundowner and after dinner cigar. Spa is small but Vanessa was excellent . Lunch menu was perfect with choice if burgers , mezze , pasta , pizza and more . I would spend min if 4-5 nights and relax 1-2 days here without doing any game drives . Laundry service was so good and complimentary that they also offer to clean your safari shoes . It does not have AC ( suites have AC), but a small fan and can get hot but you can open the balcony door as have A meshnet. Family room is available . Great place for family bonding . Full board rate includes Accommodation, laundry services, and all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) in the main restaurant, soft drinks, house beers, house wines and selected house spirits, teas, coffees, and refreshments (all on the property).

Stunning new gorgeous slice of heaven! Rooms are beautiful- pool and restaurants are lovely! Service is amazing! Bush breakfasts are delicious - out in the midst of the Serengeti…. Amazing experience! Coming back to this beautiful retreat after a long safari day is like a dream! Relaxing by the pool with great wine and appies before an amazing dinner. Anthony was so amazing….. he took care of us completely- his kindness and great service made our stay unforgettable!
