Fairbridge Inn Express - Barrington

This is one of the worst places I've ever stayed at, and I have stayed at a lot of hotels/motels. The shower had hair in it. The shower bottom was dirty. There was a hair on the light switch. There were cracks in the walls. It looked like someone had started to paint the bathroom then stopped after a few strokes. The water pressure was very weak. The double lamp by the beds didn't work. The outlet that I picked to charge my camera didn't work. Our friends had the room next to ours. Though we had a heating/cooling unit that worked, theirs had an in-the-window air conditioner that didn't. It was 90 degrees the day we were there. The hall carpet had a huge area near a window that was completely discolored most likely from water damage through the window (which had towels tucked under it against the wall). We chose this hotel online because it was the closest (and cheapest) to the Fox River Valley horse show and we just needed a place to crash at night. Had I known how bad it was, I would have gladly paid more to stay someplace else. The front desk clerk was very friendly at check-in!
