"The location and condition of the hotel itself were good, but one thing that happened after check out left me very disappointed with the hotel room management and service. We accidentally left two pairs of shoes in room 501 on the day of check-out, and the shoes were packed in a red Maxim paper bag. I found out just a few hours after checking out and immediately called the hotel and then emailed with very specific messages including room number, items and packaging. But the hotel replied that it was not found. What makes me particularly difficult to understand is that when we stayed in room 501, we found a pair of old shoes left by the previous guests in the closet, which seemed to have been there for a long time. This in itself made me wonder whether the hotel's housekeeping would carefully check the closet and other places. We reported missing two pairs of shoes only a few hours after we checked out, but we didn't find them. As we were leaving France for Italy soon, it was difficult to send even if found, so I did not continue to ask the hotel to find it. Two pairs of shoes are not very valuable items in themselves, but the whole experience left me very disappointed with the hotel's housekeeping and the lost property management. For a hotel of this grade, I think guests should be able to expect more serious, reliable room inspections and lost property management."

"المرافق : الموقع أساسي على الانترنت ، لأول مرة صادفت حمام ومناشف وفرشة النوم كانت في غرفة النوم غير معزولة ، الأمس كان الأمطار غائمة ولم يتم تدخين الحمام؛ النظافة: نظيفة جداً، التفاصيل ظريفة قليلاً. الأجواء: يقع على الشارع الرئيسي لمدينة بايو ، محطة القطار على بعد حوالي 2 كم سيرا على الأقدام ، المحلات التجارية على جانبي شارع المدينة ليست مفتوحة طوال اليوم ، حيث يمكنك الذهاب إلى نورماندي على الشاطىء والمكوث بالحافلة على بعد 120 يورو من الطريق ، وإلى الحافلة على وشك الوصول ، ولابد من التأكد من تكرار الزيارة والعودة إليها في الوقت المحدد ؛ يوجد أيضا متحف للحرب العالمية الثانية يمكن زيارتها، لكن ليس في محطة واحدة، لقد نفذت الأمطار أمس، وأيضا شعرت بأجواء نزولي قليلا✅ كمرجع أحب تاريخ الحرب العالمية الثانية الخدمات: والدة المالك تذهب للعمل في الظهيرة، تأكد في الوقت المحدد. انتظرت ليلة واحدة فقط. الانتقال إلى نورماندي للنزول إلى الشاطئ، فمن القطار إلى باريس 2-4 ساعة إلى بايو، وقرب من محطة بيكان. هناك الكثير من الحافلات في محطة gare saint lazare في باريس."

"This hotel's website gives a somewhat misleading impression. It's more of a motel than a hotel. The advantage: ample parking. The rooms are okay, but worn, and in our case, even with a lovely view of a meadow. The windows and doors are outdated, however. The shutters need to be operated manually. The welcome and service are rather mediocre. Young ladies were more interested in their phones than in the guests. Expect nothing, and this hotel is fine for one night. Located within walking distance of the charming town center of Bayeux."

"What to say about this beautiful mansion/castle… It is a gorgeous building, with a gorgeous park, and gorgeous potential. But unfortunately I believe it is also a very difficult and expensive business for the owners to keep up with not only the style/deco, cleanliness of the amenities and labour charges for the service. The staff we met was really sweet and helpful to us, but surely overworked and multitasking at everything. I have plenty I could discuss here, there is so much that could be done to make this castle hotel experience as a premium one. But, am not the owner, I don’t have the responsibility and the stress of maintaining a HUGE place with limited revenue and forever overheads to deal with…. I’d like everyone here to think that when you are choosing to stay in a castle, and you pay only €160 a night, you cannot expect the results of a €350 one. So, yes, there are many things to improve at BelleFontaine, but please, do continue to stay there, dear Travellers, to allow the owners and their family members, to take care of their castle. Thank you for them. (If the owners want me to tell what I would recommend… contact me! )"

"A charming hotel in central Bayeux with good parking options. We parked immediately outside the hotel for approximately 5 euros for about 17 hours. Bargain! The hotel is situated near local conveniences such as bakeries, cafés, restaurants etc. The hotel doesn’t have a lift so be prepared to carry bags up to your room. There are particular check-in times so make sure you arrive on time otherwise you may not be let in. We stayed in a family room….very comfortable and clean. No complaints whatsoever. We didn’t have breakfast there as we ate at the bakery directly across the road. Staff seemed very friendly and helpful. Shame there was no one at the desk for us to say goodbye to (and vv!) at the end of our stay. I definitely recommend this hotel for a short stay in Bayeux."

"Unfortunately, our experience was not a positive one. We were assigned an attic room on the third floor without an elevator, accessible only by a very narrow staircase. It would have been appropriate to inform guests of this situation before arrival, especially for those traveling with luggage or who may have mobility issues. Furthermore, we decided to have breakfast for two for €24, but after seeing that the croissant was clearly not fresh and there was nothing else to eat, my husband and I decided not to have breakfast. When I asked for an explanation of the room and breakfast and expressed my disappointment, the only response I received was a simple "Désolé," with no attempt to find a solution or accommodate the guest. A shame, because greater transparency and better complaint management would have made the experience very different. I hope this review will be useful to anyone who decides to stay at this "hotel.""
