Beckenham Park Hotel

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. On arrival, you ring the bell to get in and a disembodied voice activates the door and informs you that your key is on the windowsill. On gaining access, you see a couple of keys with a scrap of receipt with names and numbers. Finding your own, you look for your room. There is no human interaction. The room was small and basic. The shower room was clean, but the toilet lid was up and someone had taken a massive dark orange pee and not flushed. How could housekeeping possibly have missed this? There was no bedside table and no bedside light. The small tv, the kettle and a lamp on the desk by the window all shared one plug socket. The room was very cold. There was a radiator but it was off. There was also a small plug-in radiator that was on, but it was not up to the job. It was heavy but I manoeuvred it round so that it faced the bed. It was so cold that I kept my coat on. There was no information at all in the room (breakfast times, checkout, wi-fi etc) and no sign at all of any staff. After an 8 hour journey I did not feel like going on a search. I went to bed and it was so cold I slept in my clothes under the inadequate duvet with my coat on top. On the plus side there was plenty of tea and coffee provided (but not much milk). In the morning I just wanted to get out of the place, so did not stay for breakfast. Never again.

The hotel was clean and had been decorated, but was hugely overpriced. There was no bar or eating facilities, the breakfast was only adequate and the bathroom had only a hand held shower with basic shower gel and no shampoo. I would rate this as a 2 star hotel and would expect to pay around £80 to £90 a night.

Was here a year ago , booked in by company , couldn’t quite put my finger on what was wrong with the place , from last time I stayed, AGAIN wasn’t soon that long before I remembered NO HOT WATER & NO HEATING & if you opt for the BREAKFAST that too is DIABOLICAL WHEN SPEAKING TO THE MANAGER/OWNER , the RAT just laughing , same EXCUSE as last time whilst laughing at me , I don’t know what wrong with it I’m not ENGINEER YEAR AND A HALF LATER THE SANE PROBLEM EXISTS with THE SAME EXSCUSE

I would agree with Hazel D that this is more of a B&B than a hotel, as there is no reception. We found our arrival a little confusing: FYI you just ring the bell and wait to be let in. You are then issued with your key and told your room number. (Ours was a triple family room on the second floor.) However, we were pleased with our stay. The room was clean and warm with an extra plug in radiator if needed. it was spacious enough for three adults. The beds were comfortable and there was a hospitality tray and continental breakfast included - good value for the £135 pn we paid. Please note that the Wi-Fi code is pinned up in the reception area, but there is no note of it in the room, so check it out before you climb the stairs! An information pack would be helpful including the aforementioned and times for breakfast, etc.

How can this be a hotel without any facilities? On arrival no information about the hotel, given key to our room which was on first arrival ok then I noticed the carpet was horrible and a stain on the throw. Luke warm shower. I was told on booking the cost was B&B but it was not stated it was continental. In saying that the breakfast was nice with variety. The bed was clean and comfortable but the one pillow not great. We received milk on the first day of arrival but no other. Travelodge for me!

Well...what can I say...this has to be the worse hotel of my life and I didn't even get to spend the night as I was judged before I even got through the front door by a woman..not sure if she owns the hotel or receptionist,however to say that she judged my black skin and the fact that I didn't have a suitcase,but a bag and a pair of crutches(I have Peripheral neuropathy )she judged me instantly and made up a lie within minutes of me walking through the door saying sorry,someone must have booked in straight after she speak to me and confirmed my booking,which I knew instantly was a lie as I called her via phone 15 minutes too parking outside the hotel...I needed somewhere to stay local due too building work going on in my house and to think this is how a disabled,black woman can be treated in 2023 is despicable...I will be taking this matter further as I was racially profiled straight away,was told sorry my booking has to be cancelled and that was that...she clearly got conviction as I drove off as she came running out to tge car park to say something to me after I told her I will be leaving a honest review of my treatment...I'm now writing this review in the comfort of a beautiful room and a more hospitable hotel in Purley Way(Aerodrome Hotel)..wish I followed my spirit and came here originally instead of experiencing what I did at that dreadful place...I cried all the way here out of anger and the current pain I'm going through with my condition.
