Our stay at Taj Bekal was indeed memorable. The warm welcome, the spacious room with the swing in the balcony overlooking the beautiful backwaters being the cherry on the cake) and the grand bathroom with the tub -absolute luxury. The food at Backwater Cafe is scrumptious. The Breakfast spread is lavish and simply awesome - they have it all. The chefs specially recommended dishes for dinner and I enjoyed the Mapo tofu with fried rice. The hi tea is complimentary with appetizers mostly pakodas in the rain and one day we had chaat. They have yoga in the mornings which is so relaxing. The pool is temperature controlled (little hazy though) and overlooking the back water. The property is huge and buggies are available on a call. The best part of all is the beach and the beautiful sunset. They arrange chairs and a mat for you to sit back and enjoy. There's a restaurant By the Bay if one likes coastal food. The moon rafting was not operational cos of the rains. Bekal looks beautiful in the rains. We were lucky as he rains were intermittent and we could enjoy thoroughly. The staff is very helpful and hospitable. All in all, an incredible stay!
