I have written before about this hotel, my last review spoke about how hopeful not only I but many others including many of the staff would like to see a refurbishment take place, so the bad news is they have put this off once again and from what I can gleam there are no plans on refurbishment taking place anytime soon. So all the usual info remains the same, staff are excellent, location excellent. Restaurant food hear is were we see cut backs taking affect as in the quality. The rooms have deteriorated even further. After visiting this hotel for many many many years we have reluctantly decided not to return until improvements are made.

Absoluut geen 4* waard!!! Totaal verouderd, restaurant niet proper, ligzetels waar je door valt, parasols die stuk zijn en wegwaaien, eten totaal niet lekker (grootkeuken en niet vers!), kamers niet in orde,... en ga zo maar door! Enige positieve is de ligging en goed bed. Totaalrenovatie meer dan nodig! En daar staat het eten los van.

Great location. Room was good size and clean. Breakfast was nice but not much variety. We only had one evening meal here then went out rest of holiday. Pool area was tired, not clean and sunbeds broken and in need of updating. Noisy rooms - had to listen to next doors breakfast tv from 7am every morning. All floors squeak and the lift noise can be heard from all rooms. Our room leaked on first night cause of the awful storm and receptionist both male and female just looked like we had inconvenienced them. Didn’t even say sorry. We love this resort and surrounding areas but this hotel is tired and has lost its sparkle. We won’t be back where there are so many other better options. We aren’t fussy and don’t complain but for a TUI Blue this is not up to standard.

Hotel in nice posistion, transfers ok, check in was easy. Room on 4th floor, nice view, large and very clean. One problem with these rooms is you can hear everything from adjoining rooms. The laminate flooring is very squeaky and moving about in the room not to wake the other person is impossible. We had bad neighbours for 4 days, [ TV loud, Inconsiderate, Did complain ] Walls need better insulation. Food ok you won't starve, we did go for a curry across the road tho' very nice. Entertainment: Halloween show was very good, so is the artist Alexander. Staff nice and very helpful and did very well clearing up after the really bad storm.

Last visited this hotel 14 years ago and had a wonderful holiday . Hotel is under different management now and unfortunately no where near previous standards. The reception staff men are very unhelpful to the point of being rude, when asked for information or help shrugged his shoulders and gives one word replies, or ignores you whilst chatting with colleagues. The bar service is awful, one man usually , with people queuing for ages day and evening. No table waiters in this bar/lounge. I would expect better service in a 4 star hotel. Gary the tui rep very helpful and sits in reception most mornings. The rooms are dated which wouldn't be so bad if they were maintained. The bathroom shower mouldy , sealant peeling off, floor lifting up in places.stained basins.loo roll holder fallen off of wall, taps full of scale. Needs a complete refurbishment. The bed was really hard and could feel lots of springs sticking through mattress. Aircorn didn't work (reported twice) The food was very repetitive and usually Luke warm. So ate out mostly. I would not return unless another company takes the hotel over and updates the rooms and improves services.

Just back from a wonderful 2week holiday in Benalmadena. The staff their couldn’t be more helpful. The dining room staff were friendly and very hard working particularly the young lady on the grill. Best position right on the promenade and with easy access to all the bus routes. Great also to have a rep on site Gary was very involved and gave out lots of information.

I arrived at the hotel Rivera on Sunday the 20th of October with one on my friends. We were there last year and loved it, especially the lovely specious rooms with the sea view. We both had our own rooms and paid the same amount of money for a solo room. I was absolutely appalled at the room I was given, room 115 on the ground floor next to reception. It was like a prison cell it was supposed to be a 4 star hotel, it should be rated - 1 star hostel room. After speaking to the male receptionist he just shrugged his shoulders and said I have the sunny side of the hotel and he didn't have any other rooms. He was totally dismissive. Meanwhile my friend was given a beautiful room on the 5th floor with a beautiful view. Not only was my room small my balcony looked on to a brick wall and a big horrible air conditioning unit. The noise from the street was unbelievable, it was coming from two football bars across the road. I came on this holiday to completely chill out as just lost my mum and im suffering from high blood pressure and stress. Too long a story. I spoke to Gary the rep from Tui also his manager Alexander. I also called Tui in London. After numerous emails and phone calls no one could do anything for me until the Wednesday. I asked if they could find me another hotel, to no avail. I was totally devastated. Tui has offered me a £40 refund or an £80 voucher for my next Tui holiday. I'm certainly not excepting this insulting compensation. I couldn't fault the food or staff at the hotel. Gary the rep was fantastic, he did try his best for me. I eventually got moved on the Wednesday to a lovely room. Unfortunately too little too late. I got four days out of my weeks holiday. I will never return to this hotel again. I have added some pictures from my nightmare of a room. The pictures with the trees are the view from my friends balcony. I'm not letting this go as I wouldn't want anyone else to go through this nightmare. The hotel needs to sort these diabolical rooms and revamp the view from the balcony.

Enjoyed our stay. But feel the food (choice & quality) is somewhat letting the hotel down in a big way. Compared to other TUI Blu Hotels the food at the hotel Riviera very underwhelming. The show cooking was cheap cuts of Pork 3 nights out 7 nights. It would seem the Hotel provides budget food more like the food found in a 3Star Hotel. Moving onto the Entertainment again Cheap Solo Acts what you find in low budget Hotels (so, no point to stay in the Hotel in the evenings as you may as well go to any local Bar with the same sort of entertainment) The Electronic Notice Boad to inform guest what entertainment & facilities could be found daily and was broken out of action for the whole week (again no one went out the way to post daily entertainment) I asked the TUI rep where could I find information & he just pointed to a small A4 paper on his desk & added he didn’t know anything about the Acts that were booked. The sunbeds around the pool have been updated since my last visit around 6 months ago but they are white and already showing the dirt and sweat from guests (Maybe it would help if they were cleaned every night or at least once a week) The bottom Grass area is Unusable for guests as tables and chairs have been set up and never moved or used the week I was there and judging by how long the grass was around the tables they have been left there for some time. Again, management seems a bit lazy and needs to step up and provide a better service for paying guests. Sadly, the Hotel relies on returning guests but even this is changing with more guests now arriving from Germany, Netherlands, France, Spain and I would guess more European guests will follow. I would be glad to return but the Hotel needs to up its game with Food Quality It would be nice to update the Menu in the Culinarium restaurant as this has been the same since the restaurant opened many years ago. A lovely surprise to get an upgrade to a superior room. Plenty to eat for breakfast but dinner was not as good as breakfast. Agree with earlier posts that it needs a bit of TLC and a lick of paint. Bed was very hard - which may suit people but was uncomfortable for us. The location is fabulous for everything. Easy trip down in lift to beach
