SpringHill Suites Bend

The room was excellent, very comfortable beds and a seating area. Very clean and well appointed. Breakfast was very good. Excellent seating area for dining and a Bar located adjacent to lobby. Other seating areas designed for comfortable seating and visiting. All staff encountered were helpful and friendly, even when I ended up in basement laundry area by mistake! Easy walking to food, beverages and a park & trail nearby. If I go to Bend again I would not even bother looking for different hotel.

Stay was only OK mainly because of the staff/early check in. A day ahead we checked in and asked for a 2 hour early check in. Nobody reads the comments/check in time on the web page we entered. People at the desk were not on their game. Had to ask if they could hold luggage, couldn’t find tags. They said they would text when room was ready. 3:00 we checked in, had to take up our own luggage. Only one elevator was working. At 4:00 we then received a text our room was ready. Room was clean. We had 4 people, but only 3 sets of towels. Housekeeping should know how many people are checking in. The morning breakfast was good and people were good and happy at their jobs. Checking out all of the elevators were out. We were on the 4th floor with luggage, upon telling desk clerk DLS, she couldn’t care less. Told us the repairman was called and didn’t know when they would be there. When asked how were could get our 4 bags down she told us there were 2 stairways, then when I turned away she shook her head like it was a dumb question and did not offer any help. With others waiting at the elevators I went back to her to recommend placing an out of order sign on them and she stated she would see what she could do. (Wasn’t going to happen). Service was lacking

Perfect stop! Loved the comfort of the room and the river walk after a long drive. We enjoyed a Great one night stay on our way home.

I’ve stayed at SpringHill Suites in various cities and generally enjoy the consistency and professionalism. Unfortunately, my recent experience with the Bend, Oregon location was anything but. I booked a weekend stay for August through what appeared to be Marriott’s site, but it was apparently processed via Priceline—something that wasn’t made clear during the booking. When plans changed, I tried to cancel the reservation. The hotel confirmed the reservation and said it was non-refundable because it was through Priceline. They provided me confirmation numbers and told me to call Priceline. Priceline, however, had no record of those confirmation numbers and denied the charge—leaving me in a loop where neither party would take responsibility. To make matters worse, the hotel manager: Refused to give me his name, even after multiple polite requests. Hung up on me—twice—when I asked for escalation or assistance beyond him. Repeated “Talk to Priceline” over and over, without acknowledging that I had already done so and that they couldn’t help. I ultimately had to file a dispute through my credit card company to try to recover the nearly $800 charge. That’s not how I wanted this handled, and it’s certainly not what I expect from a Marriott-branded property. I’m sharing this to alert future guests to: The opaque nature of the booking process if done through third-party channels. The lack of support from hotel management when issues arise. Hopefully Marriott will look into this situation and ensure better training and guest support moving forward.
