Tickton Grange Hotel

Just returned from a wonderful 2 night stay. Found this place on Yorkshire Food Guide, and on looking & searching thought great deal for a lovely place. Although we live approx 1 hour away, we have not heard of this place... Decided as my birthday to book a 2 night stay, and we were NOT disappointed. The Dale's Suite was a great room with wonderful dlsun / sunset views... we were lucky with the warmest May weather in a few years ... The food and service both, breakfast, lunch & dinner were wonderful. Thank you, guys.... Great location for Beverley, Hull, The Deep, the Wolds, and even the East Coast... and wonderful independent Country House Hotel. Well worth a visit . Thanks to all staff.

Every visit to Tickton Grange feels special. Our latest visit was for a spring time lunch and it didn’t disappoint! Sitting in the Hockney bar looking out over the grounds with excellent food in a beautiful setting we felt special again. The sandwiches come with those little extras Tickton does so well…. Nothing is too much trouble for Ilene and all the staff, with everyone treated with the same courtesy. So with delicious food and exceptional service at such great value for money, we will be back as soon as we can.

I had the pleasure of DJ ing for the Wedding Reception of Hannah and Steve Hardy on Saturday 29th March in the Rose Room. I was looked after really well by the hosting team, led by Megan and Lucy. The room was really well set out and clean and the guests had a great time, dancing the night away. Best wishes to new Mr and Mrs Hardy and thank you to all the staff at the Tickton Grange.

Lovely afternoon tea at Tickton Grange. It was myself, a friend, my aunt and grandma who are both in their 90s. The afternoon tea was plentiful and delicious - I must say it is better than Betty’s, in our opinion. One diner has some dietary requirements so I emailed them over ahead of time and everything was catered for perfectly for her. We sat in the dining room in the bay window looking out on the perfectly preened garden, which was lovely. We have sat in the library before which is as nice, but felt the higher table in the dining room was better for my aunt and grandma. All of the servers were very friendly and made us feel special. The young lady that greeted us was lovely (I’m so sorry I didn’t get her name!), Eileen couldn’t do enough for us, and a man came over to welcome us, who I assume was the owner. We all felt very special and comfortable. There is also a very nice day time menu if afternoon tea isn’t your thing! We are already looking at our diaries to arrange a date to come back!

The welcome we received from all staff, including the owners, members of the Whymant family, was a very warm one, our bedroom (no 4) was cosy with an ambient temperature for the cold weather outside. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent with lovely toiletries. The Bloomsbury Dinner menu was varied, seasonal, the food excellent and on a par with some Michelin Starred restaurants. The Afternoon Teas looked lovely and appeared to be very well received! The drinks menu and wine choice were good and catered for most tastes. The standards and values of Tickton Grange Hotel are high but at the same time the atmosphere is relaxed and with very personable staff. We would thoroughly recommend.
