DoubleTree by Hilton Birmingham Perimeter Park

This place was great...they moved us to a new room bigger room because ours wasn't ready at no extra cost and we were actually checking in early and didn't charge for that either...lovely staff clean rooms and awesome breakfast...at check in they even give complimentary warm chocolate chip cookies and the were amazing...nice touch💜

I really wanted to enjoy my stay here, but there were several issues that made the experience frustrating. Let’s start with the biggest problems: • We were never informed at check-in that housekeeping wasn’t standard. Even after multiple requests for daily room cleaning, no one ever came. • We never received new towels — we had to physically go to the front desk to get them. • The TV volume was awful — I suspect the equalizer was broken. • None of the ice machines worked on any floor we tried. • I paid for the breakfast package, yet every morning I had to prove I had it to a visibly annoyed attendant. There was no guest list available to make this easier. • The buffet area had a leak during breakfast — not what you’d expect from a Hilton property. • The lobby snacks were wildly overpriced — $5 for a single Hershey bar is excessive. • The front desk staff seemed undertrained. They were often confused about how to fulfill basic requests. • A room service cart sat outside our door every day, which wouldn’t be a big deal if our room was ever serviced. • I requested a luggage rack, and it never came. • Our trash was never taken out. I ended up taking the full bins myself to staff and asking them to replace the liners. The room was clean upon check-in, which I appreciated, and we got a free warm cookie. The location is great close to restaurants and just a short drive to downtown. But overall, the lack of follow-through, poor service coordination, and subpar experience for the price really took away from what could’ve been a pleasant stay. This hotel has potential but it’s clear there are operational issues that need serious attention

My family stayed at this hotel on June 6th, overnight, on our was to Gulf Shores. As this was billed as a 4 star hotel, we expected polite and responsive staff. Unfortunately, all the staff we talked to were not only rude, but were condescending in tone. The room was nice, BUT, the air conditioning was broken and the rooms were hot all evening, well into the night. The staff were not forthcoming about this when we checked in. If we had known that we would have immediately cancelled our stay and went elsewhere. The cookies normally offered were not, and I had to make an extra trip to the busy front desk to get them later. Also, when we were packing to leave the next morning, I dropped my earbud case in the floor. When I picked it up, I felt one in the case and assumed both were three. So we checked out and left. There was no one at the desk when we left. Later that evening, when settling down for the night, I noticed one of the earbuds was missing and I knew exactly where it was. After nearly 6 attempt to get in touch with the hotel, several times when the call was connected, they merely hung up the phone, someone did answer. I explained my problem with the missing earbud and told them exactly where it was lost. They refused to check for it and gave me the website to report the loss. I feel they could have easily went to the room and retrieved the item and brought it to the dest and I would have stopped to get it when we pass through next week. Big fail, will not stay there again.

The service was GREAT, room size was GREAT, location was GREAT...however, the room needed more lighting. Overall, we had a GREAT STAY.

Great place to stay. Was a little surprised about having to pay for parking but no biggie.
