The Castle Hotel

It’s been a while since I last visited the Castle Hotel for dinner and drinks. What a great experience. Excellent food. Very good range of real ales. Friendly and helpful staff. And a beer that is simply fabulous on a sunny evening. Very impressed by all aspects of my experience and strongly recommended for anyone visiting Bishop’s Castle.

An amazing hotel. Very welcoming and an extremely high standard of accommodation. Bedrooms clean and bright. Staff most helpful and friendly. One of the best hotels in the UK we have had the pleasure of visiting. We shall certainly return if we are in the area again

Stayed at the Castle several times with my husband and now as a widow I feel perfectly comfortable visiting on my own. Lovely room, great real ale and superb food both at dinner and breakfast. I particularly like the menu choice of a small dessert + coffee - just right when you fancy a little something but don't want to feel overfaced. Great to see well behaved dogs welcomed and even given a free sausage at breakfast!

Our second visit to this lovely hotel and we were not disappointed. It’s a special place to stay whether you want to walk, cycle or just drive around the glorious countryside surrounding it. Comfortable rooms, very attentive and friendly staff, great food and beautiful gardens. What more could you want?

We've been to the Castle Hotel on three previous occasions (and, co-incidently, the same room) and have always had a great experience. This time the room mhad recently been upgraded and I found the bed, the most comfortable I've ever had away from home. Staff our always very helpful, and the food would be hard to beat. It was lovely to be able to sit outside in their secluded garden in the afternoon sun after a very pleasant trip to Llandindrod Wells.

As soon as we walked in through the doors we were made to feel welcome. The hotel was very relaxed and all staff were really friendly. It was great to be able to take the dogs into both breakfast and dinner but there is a dining room where they are not allowed if you don’t like dogs. We were here for the weekend and ate in for breakfast and dinner - food was really good and good sized portions. Can recommend the mushroom omelette! We were in room 2 which had fabulous views over the hills in the distance and was a good sized room to accommodate us and our two spaniels. There is a really large garden with lots of seating which we took advantage of as the weather was excellent during our stay. There are lots of good walks from the hotel and route suggestions are provided by the hotel. We were made to feel very much at home - thank you!
