Food was good. Loved the bar. Room smelled like sewage but they put deodorisers in the toilet.

I think some people are very quick to complain! I had spent the weeks coming up to our trip reading reviews becoming concerned that the hotel was not as good as the picture when booking, however I was pleasantly surprised! when we arrived we could check straight into the room and the hotel staff carried the cases to the room and gave us a brief tour explaining the main features of the hotel. there are lots of steps so the reviews didn't lie on that case, however this is nothing unusual to other abroad destinations. we were in a hotel room located on its own block away from the main block which was lovely, the people in the room next door were very loud at times however nothing the hotel was at fault for! like any hotel that isn't brand new there are features such as the bathroom that are outdated, but had everything we needed. the room was very basic as expected, perhaps more wardrobe space would have been nice. I didn't know what to expect for the food. there was a different "main" meat each dinner time which was a nice change, with the side dishes generally being the same or different flavours of the same etc. a weeks stay was the perfect amount of time to be there without the food becoming repetitive! I have allergies so was slightly unsure what I was able to have but from speaking to the staff I was shown what I was and wasn't able to eat. there were 2 bars and drinks were all nice, however majority of cocktail options are all at an extra cost. there were daytime entertainment options if wanted but other pool options if wanting a quieter break. beaches nearby but have to walk down steep hills to get there. overall I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone who is wanting a cheap trip away

Ok so Riva Hotel, Loads and Loads of stairs, so if you have any motability issues (DON'T BOOK) was recommended by our Travel Agent, then we booked it ourselves as cheaper. So YES we were looking forward to the all inclusive this time as no kids. and just sun, pool, cocktails, massage's. 1st reception welcoming, smaller than imagined, we arrived late and was handed a stale bun too keep us going till morning. Thanks but no thanks. Room was directly above reception and our sea view was a tree view, Room 505. :( I went straight down to reception and asked to move.. They did at 11am next day, no issues. Moved to 308, nicer room and seemed cleaner. Balcony is tiny, breathe in when you try and get out if chairs in the way. Lovely view, still trees, but had a nice vantage point of the area. BUT TV doesn't work passed 1,3,5,7,9.13 and no English channels, aircon was hard work too. WI-FI patchy and inconsistent. Remember if you are buy as you go and not contract buy an eSim for TURKEY as EU doesn't work over there. Also no coffee or tea facilities in any of the rooms. Fridge loaded with cold water, which is a blessing, we also had small red wine and 2 glasses and a plate of fruit in new room, not in the other one though. Ok soo day one, main pool bar and swimming pool. pool clean, swimming floor and area around pool extremely dirty and very unkept, didn't know where too put my feet some days as was just filthy, there is a Little shop charging euros prices such a rip off? I really struggled when charging euro then converting to lira. 3 pools we ended our hols in the one on level -1, nice and quiet there and indoor bar area. The outdoor pool bar was great, just what you need, drinks on tap, staff were attentive and very well versed. It was nice and shaded in the covered area, with stunning views, was the highlight of the view. Evening entertainment, what entertainment, 1 eve of 3 girls dancing for about 15 minutes then fluffing their butts at the tables for money. Other nights was just a so called DJ, who thought playing with the bass levels, would make the music more inviting, it sounded awful and he played the same songs each night, so by 9pm you were like "again". Mostly Turkish, German or Russian music, these people were very well catered for in the hotel, not so much for UK or other English, Scottish speaking visitors and def the music was not aimed at us. Makes you feel 2nd best at times. Oh and the pool area has music playing from the bar all day,, which is lovely as nice and balanced, UNTIL 2pm when the DJ or bar staff turn it up so loud that the peeps sitting there on their sunbeds have to move, cant understand why, we have just eaten we don't want to be blasted for the next 4 hours, let us relax and close our eyes and have a nice chilled swim or read our book. leave the volume as it it. Food!!!!! Here it comes, get ready..... NEVER AGAIN (All inclusive for prison food) Pizza guy saved the day, every day, every

I would like to express my deep gratitude to the manager of the hotel Mehmet Belek for his responsiveness. He helped to quickly solve a number of small problems, and our holiday was not spoiled. Thank you very much, this is very important. Also, thanks to the hotel staff for the warm welcome. Riva Bodrum is a hotel with excellent cuisine and stunning views of the Aegean Sea

Had such a great time at River Bodrum Hotel! The sunset views were absolutely stunning 🌅 Although the rooms could definitely do with some updates, the staff more than made up for it — they were all so lovely and welcoming! Special shoutout to my new friend Love (we love, Love! 😂) — she was so friendly, approachable and made us feel looked after. Me and my friends were well taken care of, especially by the amazing bar staff. Also loved that there were 3 different pools to choose from — such a nice bonus!

Definitely more a 3* hotel. You can tell the rooms and areas around the hotel are definitely in need of renovation, the shower in the room we had was on a weird slant so the water didn’t drain fully and you’d always have a bit of puddle you stood in (We got used to it as the week went on though.) and I heard they’re due for renovations next year I think anyway. I think so long as you get a room within the hotel like we did, as opposed to the little out buildings they have, you’re fine. Really enjoyed the food throughout the week, it’s what you’d expect for an all inclusive resort/food but I’m not a fussy eater so I always had plenty to chose from. The ice cream they have is amazing as well! My friend and I loved the variety of having 3 different pools, we mainly stayed at the middle and top pool and never tried out the main pool at the bottom. Top pool is definitely where it’s at as you’re right next to a bar and walking distance to a toilet too! They have a massive cabana up there as well so you have shade all day and can move to one of the sunbeds across the pool if you want to sunbathe (which is what we did most days). The views are AMAZING! They definitely were the highlight of the hotel and make up for the few issues it does do have. There is a bit of an issue with language barriers at the hotel, most of the staff know really minimal English and there was a situation at reception where I had to use google translate on my phone for the receptionist to know what I was asking. But otherwise all the staff within the complex are really friendly and always smiling and saying hello. I’d definitely say this hotel is probably better to visit during peak months from June-September as it seems to become very popular then. All in all my friend and I had a lovely week here, we unfortunately didn’t do much outside of the hotel as Bodrum had a heatwave and it was 38-40 degrees most days. But there seemed to be plenty to do around the hotel, we ventured down to the beach just down the road twice (heavily recommend either visiting in the evening when the sun is setting, like we did. Or get a taxi as the hill back up is nearly vertical and tough to get up). There is also a lot of steps throughout the hotel as it’s on a hill, we didn’t mind or find it difficult to navigate but if you have mobility issues it’s worth baring in mind. Oh and if you happen to be female and are visiting the area with other female friends just be careful and stick together. My friend and I did experience quite a lot of Turkish men hounding us when we were outside of the hotel. I’m not sure we’d come back to this hotel again but we still had an amazing time regardless and Jan/Yan (I’m not sure how you spell his name) and Love at the sunset bar are really lovely.
