I feel compelled to share my extremely disappointing experience with the Blarney Castle Hotel. For my son's christening, I wanted to plan something special—a sit-down meal with a set menu for 20 family members, followed by drinks with an additional 20 guests. I contacted the manager, Ian, three months in advance, and he assured me that the booking was confirmed and everything was in order. However, as the date approached, I needed clarification on essential details such as menu options, pricing, and seating arrangements for decorations. Unfortunately, Ian became completely unreachable. Despite leaving 15 voicemails, sending 7 emails, and visiting the hotel in person 3 times, I received absolutely no response. The other staff members repeatedly told me they couldn’t assist because this was “Ian’s responsibility.” This level of unprofessionalism was staggering. Not once did Ian return a call, despite more than 25 callback requests. With no information and no confirmation, I had no choice but to change venues the day before the christening. If you are considering booking this hotel—especially for an important event—I strongly urge you to reconsider. Whether you are local or visiting from abroad, look elsewhere. This establishment is disorganized, unresponsive, and lacks even basic customer courtesy. Do not take the risk with this unprofessional and amateurish business.
