Mandarin Oriental, Bodrum

The best part of our stay was leaving . Avoid! This MO is an insult to the MO name and to Turkish hospitality. The management problems are widely known as we discovered outside the resort but ignored within it . The place is fabulous. The rooms are gorgeous. The stress caused unbelievable.

Great experience in Mandarin Oriental Bodrum.The best hotel is Bodrum. I spent 9 days in the hotel with my family. The hotel is new and has a nice atmosphere. Mister Cuneyt is one of the best managers I met during my travels. He understood quick we need a quite location,he took care about this request very professional. The hotel has nice restaurants and we liked the main restaurant. They are organized and have great cuisine,the view is amazing. Everyone who works there makes an amazing job. They also have shisha that is a nice part of the evening. I wish to highlight the shop/little market in the hotel. They have everything you need daily or high-end cosmetics,sun cream or souvenir. Lots of toys for the children. Wonderful shop please check it out! You will be very happy. One thing I would name as possible improvement that you could notice guests that few shops and restaurants close mid October. Maybe next season they decide differently. Over all the best experience in Bodrum! Also one of the best Mandarin Orientals I visited in the past 9 years. This Mandarin Oriental had the best managers and team!

I must give immense credit to the GM and leadership team of this hotel. The staff is some of the best trained I’ve ever experienced. Upon arrival, you’re met with a guest ambassador - I’ve had similar before, the last being at the Ritz Reserve in Los Cabos, Zadun. This was the most flawlessly executed personal concierge I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with. Ours was named Ela and she was fantastic! The staff are always smiling, kind and immensely anticipatory - they even move to the walls when a guest is passing - an old custom I’ve only seen preserved at places like Claridges and in the Far East and India. The property is STUNNING. The rooms are some of the best I’ve ever stayed in - they’re enormous. While the food prices are very high (comparable to the French Riviera - and then some), the hotel is not cheap by any means - they don’t nickel and dime you. They’re happy to accommodate and do it with a smile. While I did face a couple of hiccups with the in house non-branded restaurants, those issues were quick to be rectified and duly, with immense care. The Mandarin-trained staff is flawless; my guess is the in house restaurant staff is seasonal and the turnover is abundant, hence issues with proper service - though not for a lack of trying. They’re always smiling and doing their best, which is endearing and speaks to the way this hotel is run. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Bodrum. If you’re looking for a French Rivera type vacation with rooms you simply won’t find down there, as well as Far East- level service and attention to detail, look no further. Special mentions to Ela, Oksana at the Spa for going out of her way to remedy a situation and Suna for one of the best massage treatments I’ve had. Highly recommend and well done to whomever runs the property and trains the staff - you’ve done an absolutely outstanding job. - Munir

The staff truly make the experience exceptional. We were assigned a personal concierge (all guests are) who are so incredibly helpful. And also proactive in that they reach out to see if there is anything they can assist with. The property is wonderfully maintained and no clearly no expense was spared. A world class resort, up there with the best I’ve ever visited. A very gracious thank you to everyone that made our trip such a memorable one. And one thing to note - there are a lot of negative comments about pricing but the reality is that the elevated pricing is the price you pay to have such a great “service” experience. Does it seem a bit ridiculous at times? Sure, but at the end of the day you probably wind up paying 40% more than you would at a lesser resort on food / drink, etc., but the level of service you get in return is worth (at least to me) much more than that.
